Someone linked us this picture in the 590 rumor thread insisting it a was a GTX 590.. oh... that's right..

Cool card, but they should of used two 560s, unless they are pricing this @ $350. Otherwise just pick up a couple GTX 460s for $350 that will overclock better than the two gpus slapped on one PCB. Smart way to try and lay off some excess 460 stock.

Badass cooler though.

Good for those who's boards don't support SLI. Or maybe have used all of their 6pin connectors.

These dual gpu cards are nothing more than a shameless money grab. Only noobs and fanboys would even consider a piece of junk like this for $400.

Your just mad because it will be faster then your newly bought gtx580 for 100$ or more less. .

@ 1900x1080 it will be a good card for under 400$.

Although it looks cool I don't see the point of this either unless you could sli with another 460 or a 2nd card. Especially considering the mark up Evga puts on their "special cards".

The Evga guy said it would be priced lower than the gtx580. 389$ sounds good?

That sounds like a fair (ish) price... I can see it selling (but not at amasing rates, still to high at 389$).

I think it should def. be under 400$ though, seeing as you can get a 460 for like 160-170$.

I think Id price it around 360$

20-40$ ontop of normal price for 2x 460s, and probably cheaper makeing 1dual card vs 2 normal (still have a decent profit). And at that price range, this thing would steal sales, from its competitors because of how easy it is to market vs a 580 or 6970.

All they have to do is show a 3d mark vantage score, with the 3 cards (580, 6970, this new 460x2 card) and show the price tags next to the results.

get that spread around and this card would steal sales (most of those would probably be from the 580's though, because of the prices).

*if* Evga gets this under the price of a 6970 = win.

like... really win, all they have to do is show a 3d mark vantage score, with the 3 cards (580, 6970, this new 460x2 card) and show the price tags next to the results.

I agree, But I think 360$ is too low, it would kill gtx580 sales but mabe not with only 1gb of vram.
I'll meet you in the middle ,379$ for the gtx 460 x2, and the gtx580 goes to 439$. That also makes the gtx590 sound pretty good at around 799$.

even at 379$ is abit high, but it would work (better than at 389$).
Even if it is abit overpriced compaired to the 460 single x2 buys, as long as people dont know that, and you market it showing its performance/$ (which is probably higher than both the 580's and the 6970's).

the point should go across and people would buy it.

And the fact that this 460x2 card could give you 3D surrond (eyefinity like), and yet not even a 580 can, would also go in its favor, when marketing it.

And Again I ask, why hasnt AMD done the same with a 6870 dual card?
I think for AMD the payoffs would be bigger than nvidia doing a dual card, because of how many Intel users there are that dont have crossfire boards.

Good point I forgot about that, but with only 1gb of memory, mabe not so good.

Would just have to show it on some older game (that doesnt use to much Vram), but itd still be a factor, even with only 1gb.

Any board that has 2 pci-e x16 slots supports crossfire. Or are you talking about really old, cheap or matx boards that only have 1 pci-e x16? But then they would be in the same boat as amd board owners.

Most OEM off the shelf PCs only have one PCI-E x16 slot in them. Because they use cheap Intel/Foxcon boards that usually are mATX. BTX boards used to be a problem with this as well.

This is SLI. AMD chipsets don't support SLI off of the shelf.

You also won't fit an 11.5" video card in most off the self PCs, so it doesn't really matter.

I was considering buying two of these, but now without quad support I've completely lost interest. I think they'll find they've lost a lot of sales by excluding quad.

Why theres not enough ram for quad support anyway, it would be useless.
Why would you use 4 gtx460's for 1080p?

nVidia doesn't offer quad SLI support, only Tri. They always work fine though. Just curious, what res are you planning on playing that you want that much GPU power with only 1Gig RAM, per GPU?
