Good morning PSU masters

I plan on buying either an evga supernova p2 650 or 750.
For gaming with a gtx 1080ti, 650w is enough so either will be fine.

However I have a couple of doubts because both of them are priced exactly the same ($120), and some review sites say that either model 650, 750 or 850 are all equally as good.
But reviews on tomshardware are more in depth, for the P2 650w and the P2 750w.
It says better 5VSB rail for the 650 model, 7.7 vs 10.6 ripple supression, shows better Transient Response tests, and is more silent. (the only worse thing is 17ms only hold up time on the 650 vs 22ms on the 750)

1. Are all the psu's always built equally the same, which means that those reviews are accurate?
2. Does those slight differences between them actually matter? (they should since they are on the pros and cons) making the P2 650 better?
3. Would it be worth buying the 650 vs the 750 for the same price? (yes 650w is enough for a 1080ti but in the 10 year warranty period an average gamer buys new gpu's at least 3 times)

Thanks in advance

1. Generally yes. A quality unit by a quality manufacturer is achieved by design and quality control.

2. No. It's just one component of a review, and it won't affect your usage.

3. For the same price, I'd buy the 750w unit for the fact Platinum rated units are very efficient, so running a larger-than-needed unit won't really matter much.

4. You can also take a look at the G3, which JonnyGuru also really liked:

Great, thanks I've worried too much about the reviews I think, but any of them should be fine.
(currently I have a cooler master extreme power plus which was the most sold in my country when I bought it, but later I noticed it was bad quality, so maybe that made me paranoid xD)
So I should go with the G3 which is newer and theres not that much difference between gold and platinum.
However I am purchasing in 2-3 months so maybe a new one is released by then

The G3 is relatively new, and it's doubtful EVGA will release another high-end unit to compete against the G3, unless they decide to release the P3 (platinum) The G3 is a great unit, just read some reviews.

Currently the G3 is $109 and the P2 is $140, yes in that case I would go with the G3.
Well I dont remember if I compared prices last month (probably not between gold and platinum), or I dont know if its possible for them to be later on sale for the same price.
But if price was not a factor, would the P2 be a better choice just for the slight better efficiency? (also its box looks better if that matters )

But price is always a factor. The platinum will save you a few bucks a year in electricity, but since it's $31 more right now, it will take a bit to "break even" on the purchase.

I'd personally buy whichever one was cheaper at the time you are ready to buy. Power supplies can vary in price quite a bit with sales, promotions, and rebates. They are both very effecient.
