EVGA + RMA = Win!

Just wanted to share my story about my RMA experience with EVGA. Not a fanboy or anything, I just like sharing things like this when companies deserve it.

SO, I have an 8800 GTS 512. W couple of weeks ago it seemed to have died. Artifacts, crashes, all that. So, I contacted EVGA.

Under my account, it said that my registration was late. According to them, I registered 4 months after getting the card, at 5:30am. I explained to them that if I am up at 5:30 am, I'm either having an emergency piss or I'm on fire. Either way, registering my video card is my last concern. After speaking to them for a bit, they seemingly agreed that is was a bit odd that I would bother registering a card that late knowing that it was useless, and helped me out.

A couple of weeks later, my little old 8800gts was replaced with a brand new GTS 250.

This is a company that clearly stands behind their products, and has made a customer for life. Its a shame other companies can't follow this model of service.

I have read this exact story as in the EXACT same words here before...

Anyways for your sake I hope that nvidia always has competitive products since your locking yourself to their products.

I am guessing you mean different people? If so, its good to hear that they're consistent in their service. To me, thats the sign of a good company, ya know? I've also had good luck with ASUS and OCZ.

It is a shame though about the Nvidia thing. Also a shame that I couldn't use the replacement card as a credit, and pay the difference towards something new. I really do want a 5870 2gb, but I am still very happy with the level of support I got from EVGA.

EVGA is awesome. Best company to buy Nvidia products from. I've had 3 EVGA cards and have had nothing but great experiences with them.

I just bought 2 of the unmanufacturable 470's from them. They are clearly the leaders for Nvidia cards.

If I end up buying an Nvidia card in the future I'll go EVGA/BFG. There seems to always be good stories with their service and products.

Take a look at the actual thread was linked. Look at the timing. As you could probably figure out if you weren't too busy looking for NVidia conspiracies, this is an update post to an issue that the OP made a thread about earlier. Note that the last post there talks about sending it back to EVGA, whereas this thread opens (one month later) with him getting a GTS 250 back. NOTHING fishy is going on here, just someone making a new thread instead of grave-digging his old one, and remarking on his continued good experiences.

(In case you're inclined to call me a fanboy as well... I'm an xfx fanboy, which means that I'm eyeing ATI cards right now. Although if EVGA is this good, maybe I'll give them a try, eh?)

No worries, I can totally see where Angel is coming from. I get that stuff on my forum all the time. Fun times trying to sort out the secret merketing BS from actual happy customers, or even other companies joining to slam the competition.

That said, my story is real and I just thought I'd share it. I can scan the paperwork if you like.

From running a forum of my own, I know that all too often the only attention companies receive is negative press and people bitching and whining. I wanted to share the opposite, and show that there are companies out there that really do stand up for the customer, and help out. While I did take a little while for EVGA to agree with me, they are smart people and realized that the posted registration time was a bit odd, and my story was real. Technically, they didn't have to do anything, but because they did they've proven to me to be an upstanding company, and one that I would deal with again.

Shame they don't have 5870s though

I used to own a Evga NV I think for 7900gs but fortunately never had to go thru rma before I sold it off. good to know their warranty process is excellent.
