Coming from a 780Ti, it seems that a 980 upgrade is not worth the cost, however 980TI would give a significant boost in performance. Am I correct in my assessment?

Also: I'm assuming these cards don't come with the free game being advertised for new cards, correct?

That doesn't seem cherry picking at all to grab the one manufacturer that only gives a 1 year warranty on new product while the standard is 3 years.

And in discussing the deal, those prices are not nearly discounted enough as a form of total compensation for having 2 years of the warranty period voided for what is likely the most susceptible to fail component under normal use.

PNY and Other manufacturers have a 1 year warranty with New products.

Saving $$$ now around Xmas time might be what people want. Not a 3 year warranty on a Full price card.

Crap on other peoples threads. " No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread."

Not thread crapping, just an opinion that I happen to agree with. The shorter warranty is a valid issue when buying a refurb card, particularly if you are weighing it against a NIB card.

Correct on both accounts. The used 980Ti cards aren't a good deal.

MSI Lightning 980Ti $600 with a free mouse mat and a AAA game and comes with a 3-year-warranty. Stack $15 off $15 Visa Chase Freedom or AMEX $25 off $200 promo and you are way better off getting a new 980Ti.

If you waited this long with a 980Ti though and it's been 6 months since the $650 980Ti came out, I wouldn't upgrade at this point unless someone gave you a sweet deal on your older 780Ti. Just overclock your card to 1.2Ghz and coast to Pascal/16nm AMD cards.

Its Thread Crapping. Read the rules.

If you think it's thread crapping, then report it to the Mods. They are really good about responding to the reports and removing the offending comments.

In my opinion, it's a legitimate point, that should be pointed out that the cards only come with a one year warranty and that the price is slightly lower than what a NIB card would cost with a 3 year warranty from the same manufacturer. Comparing this refurb's warranty to another brands NIB card warranty isn't a fair comparison.

Correct, they come in a nice box that protects the card well, but that's it. No accessories, no games or game codes.
I would think 780Ti to 980Ti is not enough of an upgrade for the cost. But who am I to worry about your money, if it's not that much to you there are a number of nice things about the 980Ti.
