Yeah pointless shameless remake of original with minimal changes to the script and less funny/entertaining.
Did you ever see Evil Dead 2?
:hmm:

well this would make it the 2nd remake, right?
...and I assume Bruce Campbell is involved, yeah?
What do you consider to be a scary movie that's good?
Did you ever see Evil Dead 2?
:hmm:
really? i thought it sucked, it was bloody but not scary... i saw it with a full crowd and half the people were laughing at the movie.. like thats gonna scare me ?
there was a preview for the conjuring, that was scary. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1457767/?ref_=sr_1
Honestly, I don't really know. I haven't seen a single movie in my adult life that has scared me. My idea of being scared is more or less having it bother you after you're done watching it, and startling me will never accomplish that. All that does is make me jump, which isn't that hard to do.
What the hell was the point of Evil Dead 2? That movie confused me so much... because it was pretty much the same thing as Evil Dead.
People seem to forget that Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 are the same movie.

KT explained it above.
It was a remake. ...I assumed most people understood that.
I don't think most people do; maybe they have only seen one or the other? I don't know.

Speaking of something similar, have you seen The Beaver Trilogy?
I saw this last week with a little film group and it was super rad. Don't want to say any more than that.
Crispin Glover? Sold. Added to my watchlist. Thanks man.

his happened to be my favorite part.

Often considered to be a remake of The Evil Dead, however this is not accurate. The rights to show scenes from the original could not be obtained to re-cap what happened, so they recreated the beginning to explain how Ash got to the cabin, a headless Linda, etc.
That was the great thing about the first 3 evil deads. They both scary and funny. This movie would have to be pretty special to come anywhere close to those great old flicks.
BTW Stephan King called the Evil Dead II the greatest horror movie of all time.
