Since his parents are involved, it isn't like it is only some nosey coworkers worried about him.

Left without his IPOD, now that serious.

That was my first thought, nobody leaves their MP3 player behind....or a jacket when its only 34 degrees out.

My boss once called in a missing persons report to the police on a missing employee LOL. The employee showed up at work, complained about a painful headache and then disappeared. And all calls to her house went unanswered.

The police asked "Sir are you really calling to report that your employee failed to show up at work?"

Yeah, I don't think any of us are going to be calling the police. But, like I said, my coworker is one of his friends and he has been in contact with the parents on multiple occations and they are getting very worried. I just wonder what that phone call was about to all of a sudden leave work without telling anybody.

That's great, his coworkers should mind their own business rather than showing concern for their missing coworker.

No spiders here. If he isn't found within a week, then you can probably find how it ended up in the Star Tribune.

I haven't seen the movie, but from what I know of it, that does sound like this case. I hope it isn't something serious.

The only things we can think of right now are maybe he has issues with alcohol or maybe has some gambling problems and owes some major bucks. But, hopefully before the weekend he will show up.

This Chinese guy at work also disappeared one day... but he had good reasons.
He had been arrested for industrial espionage at his previous job and let out for $1 million bail. He came to work at our company and I guess our bosses didn?t know that. Anyways one day he didn?t show up and eventually the Feds came. We then found out that he and his family were just gone. At his house everything is still there, the cars, the newspapers pilling up and little business cards from the Feds at the door. Feds think they flew back to china even though they had confiscated their passports.

Hmm, I will have to look into that. Can't believe I didn't think of that. Hopefully somebody else did and checked.

I wouldn't think the phone call had much to do with it... you said he was seen 7 1/2 hours later...

or Benjamin Bratt along with his E-Ring buddies.

seriously, though. Your boss (or someone) should file a missing person's report if he's been missing for over 24 hours. Our cook at the boarding house stopped showing up to work after a weekend. In the end it was because he asked for a week's advance and took the money and ran. The cops were able to tell us about how he was a con man. At least we knew he was okay, and could turn our fears to anger.
