Honestly I feel for Women news casters, they are dumped the moment they age out of being hot which doesn't happen with the guys.
Most news casters, male or female, tend not to be old and they tend to be more attractive than average and often much more attractive than average. Yes, the problem is more obvious with women but it applies much the same for men. The simple fact is people, male and female, prefer watching attractive people even if they themselves complain about it.
The business decisions that motivate the replacement of older news casters with younger ones is just that, a business decision. The odds are very high that the older news caster that is being replaced had earlier in there career, when they were younger and more attractive, replaced an older news caster. But, perhaps we can conjure up a SJW program to demand an end to people favoring attractive young people -- good luck with that!

I'm no fan of FoxNews, nor CNN for that matter, and FoxNews has undeniably utilized sex to gain there audience. It's hard to say what percentage that role has played, but FoxNews is far and away the biggest game in town so on a purely business basis they're doing what works.
But, again, the use of attractive people on a news program is nothing new and is not likely to change anytime soon as even the folks that complain about the use of pretty woman tend to be more inclined to watch such programs when they have pretty women. Pretty hard to repeal human nature...

It's also relevant to point out that Fox News is the biggest player in CABLE news, not overall. That's probably because they are the only major right wing news network, whereas the left wing viewpoint is diluted amongst all the alphabets.
