I saw something this morning (I think it was on the Fox Sports site) that named Russell as the #2 biggest bust ever, behind Leaf. I think their logic was that Russell still has a chance to redeem his career, whereas Leaf can't. I'm about 99.999999% sure that Russell will never "redeem" himself, so he will definitely be the biggest bust ever. I mean seriously, if you're an NFL GM and need a backup or third stringer, would you remotely consider that guy?
Seriously, Leaf and Russell had the physical tools. All they had to be was average and they would have at least had a long career as backups with good paychecks to go with it.
The Raiders did not trade valuable picks to move up ONE spot to draft Russell.
Leaf is still the No. 1 bust, IMO.
