Excel Help: Creating drop down list

So basically:

Drop down selectables: Bank, Home, Personal

Bank: 1,2,3,4,5
Home: A,B,C,D
Personal: new,old,medium

So when any of the a title is chosen in the drop down list, it displays all of the values for it down teh column.

Ex. If I chose Bank from the drop list this would happen:

or maybe if I choose Home:

B

Are you trying to do this with just one drop-down list, or can you use two? The first would be where you choose the category (Bank, Home, Personal) and then the second would choose which list to display by looking at the item chosen in the first list. For the second list, I would use the Offset function to select the list to display. The number of columns to Offset would be based on the which item is selected from the first list.

Doing this with just one list would be more complicated. It might involve some VBA, but I'd have to experiment to know for sure.

Edit: After playing with this a bit, it seems that one list is not a good idea. You will run into circularity problems. Two lists may not be a great idea either, because changing the first list will change what is selected in the first. That may or may not be a problem.

If you give a more thorough description of what you are trying to accomplish, maybe a better way can be found.
