Looking for the best way to do the following task:
Graphically depict with an XY curve, a schedule of documents to be released starting in Jan and ending in mid Feb.
There are 3 milestones that I want to track and show progress for graphically:
1) Document completion
2) Document input into the release system
3) Document release from the release system
My spreadsheet currently lists each document and assigns a projected date to each of the 3 actions above.
I want to show 6 curves: 3 "projected" curves of documents vs dates, and 3 "actuals" that show documents versus the dates they actually occur. That way, I can track how well the projected schedule is being met and which one of the 3 milestones above is lagging.
I'm at a loss on how to create a line graph of documents vs dates. I though about assigning numerical values of 1,2,3 to each date along the schedule, and assigning a numerical value to each document in the schedule, and then making an XY plot of those values. Does this sound right?
