My best friend just got it, and he loves it. He went with me when we listened to the Denon line, and he thinks the sound quality compares with the 2105 (a $650 receiver).
I would have gotten one myself, but I couldn't resist when uBid had a refurbished Denon 3805 for $699. My new baby is coming home tomorrow!
One thing this 1014 has that I wouldn't do without is the auto setup feature. I love this new feature among quality receivers which automatically detects the distance and volume levels of your speakers, and equalizes it. For people like me, who have more to learn before we can set up a receiver properly, this feature is a must. (On the Harmon Kardons it's called "EZ-Set", on the Pioneer it's called MCACC I think. I forgot what Denon calls it, but you have to have the 2105 and up to get this feature.)
