Grado sucks! don't get me wrong, they sound great, but they are open back design, so everyone that is within 10feet of you, can hear whatever
you are listening to too. Something that you might want to consider.

btaki - when you say tha tyou compared these to your HD575s, do you mean statswise, or you actually tried them out? i have never heard of this company so i am somewhat skeptical of how good they are. thanks for the heads up though, if they are as good as you say i am in on one of these, it is a HOT deal.

Ugh, I'm gonna need an amp? My Acoustic Edge doesn't provide a lot of boost to the headphone connection and my speakers don't have a jack. I guess I'll be looking at the Grado's or something else.

Yep, they sure do, Carver makes high-end home amps, I believe, but Carvin makes guitars and amps, quite good ones too..........

Something that you might want to consider (if you judge your headphones by what OTHER people hear).

If you judge them by what YOU hear, they are superb. The basic design has been lauded for more than a decade in many HiFi mags like Stereophile, AbSound, etc. The bottom line is that Grados are great if you like real music.

I have to agree here...I only care about what I hear, if other people can hear my music, good for them, they can enjoy it too!

So, the real question is are these rebranded Senn's or not? If they are, should I get these or the Grado's? (or Sony maybe?) High end Senn's are way out of my price range and I can't really afford an amp...

Carvin is a very well known guitar and amp making company. They make some of the finest guitars I've ever played and their new Steve Vai signature amp sounds absolutely amazing. I creamed in my pants when I played through the clean channel. They also make some of the cleanest sounding poweramps. I wouldn't doubt this company at all. They make and sell great products at great prices with great customer support. I've ordered a DCM150 power amp as well as guitar and bass pickups and they all perform way better than expected. Customer support is some of the best I've ever dealt with. I'm going to be buying a neck through DC200 guitar from them very soon. I just can't stress how great these guys and products are. I do not work for them! I'm just a very satisfied customer.

Hmm, 64 Ohms on these cans, i'm not sure about you guys without a headphone amp, you might want to check the stats of your sound card.
