No, I mean it. It changes my whole damn experience. When I don't exercise, I lose touch with my body. Its like its not even there. Its just a useless piece of meat that weakens and tires easily, and it happens to be attached to my mind, slowing me down.
When I push myself and get a good running routine down, and stick to it, wow. I feel connected to my body again, like its actually useful. I can feel my muscles repairing themselves and I know what my body can and can't do, because I push it on a regular basis. Its like a fighter pilot who intentionally stalls his aircraft so he can learn it's limits. Its necessary to be connected and in touch with myself.
Attitude improves as does self esteem. I have a more positive outlook. I feel strong, able and younger. I feel like there is a reason to eat food other than taste. After running, I get hungry which lets me know that food serves a purpose other than to fill my lazy gut 3 times a day.
The lung muscles actually feel worked from breathing so aggressively. The heart pumps easier doing day to day tasks and I don't sweat easily.
When was the last time you felt that tight, strong feeling in your calves and legs? Go get you some!
