Exchange 2003 question

I have 2 test vlan's going right now both have a dc & exchange per location

lab1 - 10.29.81.x
lab2 - 10.26.80.x

Both location has its own domain. i.e. lab1.local and lab2.local

My question is how do i go about getting both exchange server 2003 boxes to talk to each other?

I've never done it before but I'd imagine you'd have to set up trusts between the two domains first. Did you contact Microsoft?

You would have to delegate the DNS zones for the other domain in each domain.

Or if both DCs are 2003, you can use conditional forwarders.

Much easier and more proficient for what you want to accomplish.

You're going to need some form of DNS resolution, but I guess the real question is *how* do you want them to talk to eachother? Do you just want to send email back/forth or do you want to do something more complex?
