What exactly do you need PHP to be able to do while connected to the exchange mailbox? Exchange supports IMAP and POP, I believe, which PHP definitely supports, if you're only looking for basic mail support. For contacts and more advanced Exchange stuff, then esun's above link looks pretty good.
