Im fairly surprised at how many Notes I see in the wild. I guess the really big screen is popular.
go big or go iPhone.

Has there been any more news on the release date of this beast for US carriers? Wonder if it's going to come out in Dec again like the Note II did.
Honestly, is a fingerprint sensor and a 64-bit CPU worth upgrading for if the only thing you do is Instagram, Vine, and Candy Crush Saga?!

AT&T will have the handset on Oct. 1 for $299.99
T-Mobile will have the Note 3 on Oct. 2 for a $199.99 down payment
Sprint will have it on Oct. 3 for $349
Verizon will have the Note 3 on Oct. 10 for $299.
Well, guys, I (the OP) bought an iPhone 5 the day before yesterday...
...because some genius (my coworker) decided to upgrade to the even more interative iPhone 5S and sell it to me for a price that will help me buy my Note 3 when I resell it.

I mean, if you really think about it, is it worth any upgrade for what we really do with our phones? LoL.

Yes, because you get the updated camera for Instagram + Vine. He didn't upgrade his phone, he upgraded his camera.

Seriously? Instagram and Vine compress the crap out of your images and any real benefit is lost. I highly doubt he paid hundred to get better skin tones for his Instagram pics that get ruined with a stupid filter anyway.
I've actually only seen him message with Instagram and view other people's Vines.
Coming from a Gingerbread Xperia PLAY: Yes. VERY much.
LTE, multi-core, usable browser, useful screen size, better OS, ... the list of stuff I want/need goes on and on. Absolutely nothing to do with "epeen."
Yea because you're almost three years out with that phone.

The tech has plateaued a bit, going to sit out a year with the Note 2. Am really happy with it.
Some of the unlocked Note 3 models are apparently region locked so you may want to wait until more information is available on what is going on with this.

My wife is looking to buy the Note 3 in Hong Kong
http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consumer/mobile/mobile-phones/smartphone/SM-N9005ZKATGY
we're planning to switch to T-Mobile and if she does buy the Note 3 over there, But I would like to make sure the phone will work with T-Mobile's LTE spectrum if she does buy the phone over there. However, based on the link above, it doesn't seem like it will work with T-Mobile's LTE band 4. can someone verify?
we're in the NYC area
Thanks
If she can, I would suggest getting the T-Mobile variant to start with. It has the widest band support and will probably be the only one to have an unlocked bootloader. My question earlier about which to get for use between AT&T and T-Mobile was answered by this:

I think a lot of the Note1 users went to a 2. I have seen literally *one* original Note in the wild. In the US it was only offered on AT&T. The Note2 was on every major carrier at release. Hell I have 5 of them within 10 feet of me at work. I think a lot of those 2's are staying put for another year.
Just my opinion.
As a Note 2 user, I was going to skip the 3. But having recently coming into a little extra money, I am excited about getting the 3. Higher resolution, better screen & camera, improved s-pen, & 3gb of ram. Sounds awesome to me.
I finally got to play with the Note 3 yesterday at an AT&T store. The screen looks fantastic and it feels much nicer in the hand. I originally was going to go straight to the Note 3 right away but after playing with it for 20 minutes, I really wasn't itching to upgrade like I did before.
I want something new (just because I have a problem) but the Note 2 is still a pretty good device.
