The only thing I really balked at (other than the lack of RAID support) was the inability to adjust the multiplier. If you really want to milk your CPU, you don't want to rely on bumping the bus alone-- memory or even a PCI card could fail first and limit your overclocking.
I have to buy a DDR board this week, and it looks like it's going to be the Iwill KA266-R. It has RAID support, adjustable vcore, bus, and clock, and it goes for about $172 shipped (as opposed to about $220 for the ASUS, for which I would then still have to buy a RAID card).
Here's an interesting question: The first Asus DDR board, the A7M266, used the AMD760 northbridge (like the FIC & Aopen boards), whereas they have switched to the Ali Magik (like the Iwill & Transcend boards) for this incarnation. What I'm wondering is why? The only stuff I've been able to find suggests that the AMD chip performs about 2.3% better.
Anyone?
