The Fox News talking point is that Trump was essentially trolling the media. He wasn't serious.
I've heard it several times on these forums.

I still can't get past what would Reagan say if he were alive about the Republican President, his language regarding Russia and the seemingly endless connections to Russia his campaign has had. All the Conservative guys seem to either push out a very, very unrealistic response as to what Reagan would say or just fall back to both sides do it...
seems a good move.

they know theres about 62 million conservative voters who will believe just about anything

Funny how fast Trump threw him under the bus. I wonder who else will be joining him there?

Under present circumstances, I like to think of Trump's Chumps in this way: They're all pieces of toilet paper on a roll hanging next to Trump's gilded toilet from which after taking a heaping dump, Trump wipes his ass with them and flushes them down the toilet as he gives him the "OK" circled forefinger and thumb on the one hand and a thumbs up with a wink on the other all while singing "Happy Trails Trials" to them.

I'd be more curious why he was deemed to have value as a cooperating party if he was such a small cutout person to be honest. The FBI wouldn't do that if he held no value.

It seems to me that Trump, along with FOX and whatever's left of his cabinet full of sycophants are primarily focused on 1) - Keeping the faith of their base in Trump intact while 2) - Keeping Trump as far away as possible from his machina that he tasked for the purpose of getting campaign assistance from the Russians and 3) - Diverting as much attention away from Trump and his Russian Connection via drawing attention to their favorite Hillary Piñata of which they are now furiously whiffing at.

IMO, the culmination of that agenda has brought forth this strange weird circumstance where whatever the Trump Divert and Destroy Crew is saying is the factually verifiable opposite of what's actually happening or what the actual truth of the matter is. Their saying in their own words that Papadopoulos is a VERY MINOR volunteer of little value is a direct product of that aforementioned equation.

Liars gotta lie to cover the lies that covered the previous lies before it is what it pretty much amounts to.

But! The truth and facts of the matter at hand is anathema to their wants and desires such that whatever crimes they have committed against the nation should be ignored, dismissed and forgotten simply because they wish it so and for no other reason than Trump is after all, THE Head of State whose only wish is to MAGA. lol

I respect your opinion, but I think more disappointment is in the cards for the Anand libs although it's good to watch whatever the truth may be come out.

They blissfully sat around with the pompous astute that he wouldn't get the nomination.

....Then they sat back and conceded - but declared with the same pompous posting and attitude "Okay, but he will never get elected!"

And here we stand today.... I would say since most dems here are 0/2 they might want to stop declaring things ahead of time.

I fully expect Trump to fire Mueller and pardon everyone involved and I fully expect him to get away with it. Relying on the Republicans in Congress to do the right thing is a fool's game.

How many R's honestly thought Trump was going to get the nom and then win?

I'd say most people here have a similar score on those predictions.

Move along its just a big nothing burger and Manafort is just a great businessman had nothing to do with Russia.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/31/politics/manafort-3-passports/index.html

* Manafort currently has three US passports, each under a different number. He has submitted 10 passport applications in roughly as many years, prosecutors said.
* This year, Manafort traveled to Mexico, China and Ecuador with a phone and email account registered under a fake name. (The name was not disclosed in the filings.)
* Over the past year, Manafort traveled to Dubai, Cancun, Panama City, Havana, Shanghai, Madrid, Tokyo and Grand Cayman Island.
* Both Manafort and Gates were frequent travelers to Cyprus. "Extensive travel of this nature further evidences a risk of flight," the prosecutor's filing said.
* Manafort wrote on loan applications and other financial documents that his assets were worth between $19 million in April 2012 and $136 million in May 2016.
* In some months, like while he served as Trump's national campaign chairman in August 2016, Manafort's assessment of his total worth fluctuated. In August 2016 he said his assets were worth $28 million, then wrote he had $63 million in assets on a different application.
* Gates "frequently changed banks and opened and closed bank accounts," prosecutors said. In all, Gates opened 55 accounts with 13 financial institutions, the prosecutors' court filing said. Some of his bank accounts were in England and Cyprus, where he held more than $10 million from 2010 to 2013.

Well maybe we will see his taxes now

I was surprised he won. I thought there were too many status quo politics for hire lifetime leeches in Washington for that to happen. I also figured there were way too many special interest groups and corporations that had already bought and paid for Hillary to loose. I guess she was surprised too and was forced to write a book to try to pay some people back, some people that don't always play fair and above board so she didn't get whacked.

Interesting point I heard last night. Remember that Mueller going into Trumps finances were a red line as Trump said. This could get real interesting.

I doubt it inhibits Mueller in the slightest.

I also figure Trump has been laundering Russian money for years. Casinos & real estate development are always good fronts. Proving it may be a different story.

Oh, and I want everybody who thinks Trump isn't dirty to raise their hand...

Either Trump didn't vet this guy at all, or he did, and didn't give a damn.

As for Manafort, it wasn't a smart move to get involved in the Trump campaign. Brought him too much scrutiny.

They've been pals for years iirc...

The only hands you're going to see are the ones that got dirt on them from (virtually) shaking Trump's hand and I really don't think they'd want to do that right about now.

People seem to think it's a new thing for people in politics to go to prison...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_federal_politicians_convicted_of_crimes

It's actually very commonplace and not too interesting.

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.
A lot of democrats are discussing Trump since the election.

And you're here discussing the people discussing Trump.....so that makes you even smaller? I get that right?

Here, the newest russian announcing that it understands dick-all about Eleanor Roosevelt's rather famous comment...and that you have to change the terms of the conversation to fit your stupid little idea. Ah yes, it's because we are talking about "Trump"

Close Presidential associates are now likely to be on that list. Relatives of the President and perhaps Trump too may be found to have engaged in illegal activities. On your list of lists how many Presidents have been removed from office? None of course.

Aphorisms do not serve you well.
