Ok, so I got an Exos2 the other day and installed it all, but it seems only marginally better than my old Alpha HSF.

Heres my setup:
Athlon 64 3000+
nvidia 6800
MSI K8N Neo Plat.
1GB OCZ DDR433

Exos 2
CPU-300-V10 waterblock.

Now, at stock speeds with JUST the cpu cooled I run about 96f on the cpu, with the alpha 8xxx heatsink and a decent but not terribly high powered 80mm fan I could run stock around 96-98.

Now, color me wierd here but I would have assumed that $425 would have bought me a better cooling solution that that.

I used all the tubing they provided in two runs so I DO have a bit too much tubing but nothing insane. there are no air bubbles in the waterblock and there is only one or two pockets of very small bubbles in the hose that wont budge no matter wat I do.

Also running the fans at lvl1 yields a temp of 100f, running them at lvl10 yields 86f, so running them at lvl5 yields 98f and at lvl5 its not only no BETTER than the air cooler its also at LEAST as noisy....

So I've come to the conclusion that something HAS to be wrong. I have a friend with an older koolance case and his runs an athlon 2500+ at 600Mhz overclock with the CPU AND NB cooled at 96f so something is wrong if I cant get that same temp at idle and stock speed.

A video of the resvoir showing the water activity, not sure if thats the normal amount of movement I should be seeing.

Anyone got any tips tricks or suggestions? I'm tapped.
About to try hassling koolance to see wtf the deal is.

im curious as to what block you have on your proc. i have the origional exos system with their block on my proc and one on my video card, and my proc is overclocked to 3.8ghz (from 3.0, prescott) and my idle temp is about 96f. what ive learned about watercooling, however, is that its idle temps may not be as low as you would expect, but when the proc is under load is when they excel. my proc never goes over 118, no matter what. so what i am asking is this: what block are you using and what thermal gel you used.

btw, LOVE the car, its the one i want

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the best watercooling kit will only perform the same as a good HSF combination.

For less money you could have gotten a killer DIY with quality components.

a good HSF may be a great replacement for a stock hsf, but i know that no matter what hsf you could suggest, i dont think that it could keep an overclocked 3.8ghz prescott nearly as cool as water cooling. plus, the thing would have to be crazy loud. you show me a hsf that has the 300watts cooling capability of my cpu block and the 525ish cooling capability of the exos, not to even mention the exos 2, and i will gladly admit i was wrong.

ps
im sorry if this comes across as me being an a**, thats not my intention.

Unless your upping your VCore voltages or OC'ing a lot, if you do not have a very great quuaility water block ect(as kits do not) your going to get those temps...

I had an Exos a yr ago, but in my new system i built myself with special tubing and some peltiers with an extra PSU for them....but hey, im not normal and have invested in vapochill a couple of times...

Dont be dissapointed...once you get things straightened out youll be good to go and should get some good OCs

You aren't only dead wrong, but you're pretending that you're sure of what you're talking about. That's really sad.

OP, have you tried a repaste? Are you confident of the mounting? From where are you reading your temps? About the bubbles, they'll work themselves out eventually as long you don't have a very weak pump.
