Howdy, fellas!
I was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience with D-Link's tech support. I had a real bad time last week trying to get a little help finding out why I couldn't get my computer to connect to my new router (strangely the wired stuff worked perfectly). I figured that I had just screwed up a network setting in XP, and that the good peoples from Bangalore at D-Link's tech support farm should be able to blow right through their trouble-shooting procedure tree and find what I screwed up (I always do that, I always screw up some mundane detail). Well, the first guy did his best, and when he got to the end of his tree and couldn't solve the problem got really, really irritated and hung up on me (He said that if his calls start to approach an hour he gets penalized pretty bad). So I called again like 8 hours or so later, hoping that there would be a shift change and I'd get all new people, and the woman that I talked to seriously had no social graces, made fun of me (she kept putting me on hold to research the problem, but one time she forgot to hit the 'hold' button and I heard her goofing on me to her homeboy in the cubicle next to her), and ultimately hung up on me.
I'd go into more gross detail about what else they did to me, but I'm sure you're sick of reading it by now. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you had any recent experience with D-Link tech support. Maybe it was just my bad luck and I got the only 2 incompetent Indian kids in all of Bangalore, but I've got to kind of suspect that their entire tech support department sucks. I'm probably going to have to exchange this router for another one to work around the problem, so I was also wondering what kind of recent experience y'all have had with Netgear, Linksys, Belkin, etc.
