I have this router, and have installed another 4 of them. They have all been rock solid and compared with the DLink I had before the range is better, it does not lock up like the Dlink did, and I like the user interface. The netgear also looks better.

I have a v1 of this router, use it as a WAP, and it works fine. I have used it as a router as well and didn't have problems. However, there are folks who have issues w/ them... see the netgear forums on DSLREPORTS.COM to see if they may have similar configs as yours.

I have v2 of this router and it's a charm. Albeit the errors in the security of WEP but any router would be affected by that.

Can't find a site that shows what the back looks like. Does this have a parallel printer port like my SMC or am I going to not be able to use my printer with this router? Hmm. Gotta figure out if I can make this work somehow....

no printer port, I use the router for wireless only disable dhcp, and connect it to my SMC router with the printer port.

I thought of that but wasn't sure if it would work. So basically I leave my SMC connected to my cable modem, then add the wireless one to it just like adding a hub? Then disable all the stuff on the wirelessone to make it act like a hub. And that's it? That sounds good to me....

If you place the order online, you can pricematch online. If you buy at B&M, you CANNOT PM online. Relatively simple, I think.

I have this router and its works great out of the box except i cant get 128bit wep to work properly. Is this a common known problem with this router or all wireless routers?

I am using 128bit wep on the 4 routers I have installed without a problem. I believe it is best to use HEX to come up with the encyption.

I normally order online pickup in the store, the people in the store I go to will PM most places and will not count the coupon code against me, like they do when I try it online.

 

i just ordered one. there are a few $20 off $75 at FW that say they are for non-tech stuff only. when i tried using one online, it didnt let me, but when i called in the order and gave the CSR the same code, they accepted it no questions asked. so my final price will be $19.84 AR/AC + tax

I must have gotten an evil person. I talked to "Lynn" and she did the PM and then when I asked about also using the coupon she said she had to check. She then came back and said they woudln't do the PM because OD has the two rebates so I'd get it for $79 - 20 - 20 so $39 and they woudln't do the PM any more because of it.

Guess I have to just keep calling until I get someone to do it for me? *sigh*

I normall PM after the fact, I have had better luck myself.
