Maybe someone can tell me if I got a good deal or not. . . I'm fairly new at this!!

My intent was to build a fairly cheap and complete PC for my son . . . did I accomplish my task??

I got into the 4600 outrageous deal, selected the $799 system (because of the 15" FP selection), left everything default except I chose to add the dvd-rom, tel modem, and 15" FPM.

Total came to $1069 - 160.00 (15%) + about 41 tax = $949 Take add $200 and my final price is $749

Good deal or no??

The only thing I realize now is that the upgrade from the 17" default monitor to the 15" FP was $200 and the difference between the 2 outrageous deals was that one had no monitor as default and the other had the 17". Which means that the 17" was valued at $100 and the 15"FP was $200 more so the final price of the 15" would be $300. Am I thinking clearly or am I all messed up? I probably could have done better uh? Should I cancel my order and wait for a better deal?

I wonder if Dell would let me change the order and cancel the 15"FP. Anyone know?

What a HOT deal!

I was able to get in before midnight CST, and still had my 15% coupon that I had received in the email a few days ago! I opted to pay the extra $15 or so to upgrade to Works Suite 2004, plus another $15 or so to get the GeForce FX, for a base total of $829. After the unfortunate TN sales tax, then the 15% off coupon, my total was $769.84. Throw in that $200 rebate, and it comes to $569.84 for a FULL computer, including monitor (and suprisingly, an optical mouse ).

A really good deal, I ordered one of these machines for my firend that owns an insurance business, added few upgrades, but still really inexpensive.
To the person asking about if he should cancel the deal over the price of the monitor added, i would not; remember you got 15% off the price of the monitor anyway so it is not a bad upgrade.

I received my order confirmation 1 day after placing the order and still have not received the order confirmation.

I'm guessing they were swamped with orders. Hopefully I should have the order confirmation by Friday, that will make it 2 days since the order was placed.

I think you paid $70 too much for that 17" monitor. I noticed they were charging $200 more for that 17" monitor, but if you had picked the one without the monitor you could have added it for $130. Didn't make sense to me, but that one didn't appear to be a good deal.

I'm in a worst boat.....My order is not on-line and they charged my card TEMPORARILY. and I have not received any E-Mail.

My order was placed at 10:30pm EST. I called my C. card Co. and they said order was placed on Temp. charge...what ever that means.

I sure hope this is not a Dell Carrot, wave it in front of everybody them get all the orders and renig on the one's they can't fill. I know a couple of Magazines that love these type of problems.

This is pretty irritating as I really wanted that computer. Maybe D3LL thought that it was too good a config. for that price, especially since of late they are having a tought time pricing thier stuff properly.

Don't worry kill, I got my email finally today this morning... And it still didn't show under my account... It wasn't until I put in my order number from the confirmation that it showed my order... I put in my initial order on Wednesday around 5 pm.
