Wouldn't you have to skip the extra memory and keep 256MB to get your 200$ mail-in rebate?

umm where are you seeing that... everything i see (and everybody else at FW it seems) shows that the two are unrelated offers.

I don't get it, here's what I see here, following the link provided by Budmantown:

FREE Double Memory OR Mail-in Rebate!
With select systems. Expires 11/19/03. Offer Details

the outragous deal is different then the rest of the deals, just look at the Outragous deal!!

FREE Hard Drive Upgrade!
On select systems. Expires 11/19/03. Offer Details

FREE CD-RW in the Second Bay!
With purchase of select DimensionTM desktops. Offer Details

What am I missing? thanks for the help guys.

Today and tomorrow only buy this Dell DimensionTM 4600 loaded with FREE extras like a CD-RW upgrade1, double memory2 and a hard drive upgrade3, for only $499 after $200 mail-in rebate4.

Note the 1, 2, 3, 4 labeling. The "double memory upgrade or rebate" (2) is a separate offer from the $200 mail-in rebate (4). Read the details of the Double Memory Upgrade OR Mail-in Rebate:

FREE Double Memory OR $100 Mail-in Rebate Dimension 4600, 4600C, 8300 and XPS desktops

It's only $100. Meaning you could sweeten the deal by taking that rebate + $200 rebate and buying your own 256MB double memory upgrade for $30. Final price: $399. Sweeeeeeet ..

Those planning to buy it with an overpriced 15" LCD (now $320 (used to be $280 or 260!!!)monitor should start with the $599 configuration. It will save you $20

Man, DeLL stopped sending me their promotional emails (with coupons) after one of those price mistake deals. Coincidence...?

THe trick is to go throught the outrageous deal link to the one with the monitor and choose the LCD tv option and select no LCD TV. It does show as an config error but allows you to add it to your cart.

It will usually go through. I have done it twice previously and had no problems
I just did this but its showing $879 for me before discounts. I even chose 256mb so I qualify for the extra $100 off. Hmmm wonder where the other $60 is...

edit: also, i just configured it with "no monitor" option and I get the same price. Why tempt fate with the LCD TV choice unless its saving money??

edit2: so i chose the regular (non-doubled) memory so i qualify for the $100 rebate. but then it doesn't show on my cart configuration, only the $200 rebate. are we sure there are TWO separate offers here?? it looks like there are but i don't see them in my cart, which means that Dell won't be paying them both. anyone seeing 2 rebates in their cart?

Are you sure you're using the correct Dell SB Outrageous 4600 link?

I ask because there should be NO MENTION OF A $100 REBATE, it should be $200 with FREE upgrade to 512MB RAM.

They removed the option form the link with monitor.... Iw anted to buy another but I myself dont see it anymore.

Well again it saves you $20.00 if you go with that LCD monitor trick

I have 2 sitting in my cart and hopefully someone can make use of the configs

Config 1 - Everything default with no monitor and ATI 9800 - $809.00 before discounts
Config 2 - Everything default with no monitor and DVD-ROM for the first drive and MS Office Basic 2003 - $808.00 before discounts

The $200.00 rebate is valid with the double memory promotion for the 533 MHz fsb CPU's. Use the 15% off and you really can pocket the rebates

Both these configs have excellent resale values if you are planning on that

Both these configs have been done using the outrageous link with the monitor option.

EDIT: Coupon gone.

huh? only option I see is New Dell Gigabit Ethernet Dell Recommended
IMO this deal would be hot if you could save $40 by taking out Gigabit Ethernet (along with saving $20 by using the LCD TV bug).

Not like I need another PC anyhow, or do I?

Here we go again. Looks like Dell messed up. They do not have the "or" for the double RAM and rebate within the configuration section but they do state it in the rebate info popup. Guess it's time for me to jump in and take advantage of the turmoil and uncertainty.

If you want to talk about bugs that won't get by most likely, tell it to use the wireless mouse included in the wireless keyboard package, but select the standard keyboard.

It iwll give you an error, but go through.

I think your just asking to have your ordered cancelled though
