Matter of fact, I got the email this morning, and it hadn't gone through any of the production stages yet...and I just checked again and here is the response:
Order Processing: Wednesday, November 19, 2003

2. Pre-production: Wednesday, November 19, 2003

3. In Production:
a. Kitting
b. Build
c. Testing
d. Boxing

4. Shipping Prep: Saturday, November 22, 2003

5. Ship Date: Saturday, November 22, 2003


So, in other words, they put it together in one day and it is already shipped out! So don't worry about your order...

UpDate On KyFan's Dell 4600....I had to root around in the Dell web site and I found mine.
It is only on step 2 of the process of 5 steps to being built and shipped. In other words it's in a pile of parts at an assemblers desk waiting to be put together. Basket case right now.
The good new is i'm in the loop and I made HARD copies of everything I found including Cust. Number and order number. Also got the salesman's name that appears on the order even though i ordered on the net.
I feel Better now BUT still haven't received One e-mail from Dell since I placed the order. I even found my Est. del. date Nov.28th -Dec.2.

Go to Dell's "Customer Information Lookup". Make sure all fields are filled in correctly even the "company" space, I put NA originally and it wasn't on the page when it popped up and it didn't give me any information till i tried it again and put in the NA and it worked. Got all my INFO.

EDIT: Just got my 2nd e-mail Expected ship date is Nov 25 !

Ordered on the 18th still no second e-mail(order confirmation). Sent them a reminder on Friday - no response either - this does not look good. It happened to me once before and they finally manually confirmed the order(without itemization) at the right price, but they dropped the MIRs and shipped it to the wrong address. I hope this does not happen again...

My confidence in Dell has much improved.

When I called about the Free wireless Mouse and keyboard UPGRADE the CSR couldn't find the Free ad.
So he just said he would take my word for it and added the Free wireless Kyb. & Mouse to my order but would have to send it separately. I told him if I found the AD I would e-mail it to him which I did. I found it at RossMan's post I refered to in the Thanks to RossMan..

I guess we have heard to many horror stories about re-niging on deals and loosing orders etc...
that we are all un-sure that things will go right.

Hope everybody gets their DELL's with NO Problems.

Can you link the customer information lookup? I can't find it on their site. I've received a second email but it wasn't a confirmation, it was an "order information" email. I dont know if thats the same thing. Like a lot of people, still no sign of the order on the dell's status.

I usually ignore those because Dell tends to forecast the worst case scenario.

Earlier today my Dell 4600 order status was delayed until 12/2, I just logged in and checked and it's in transit to a courier to be SHIPPED.

I'm guessing I should have it sometime next week.

Yep got the 9800 but I plan on selling it I'll be replacing it with the POWERCOLOR Evil Wizard ATI RADEON 7000 64MB DDR DVI+CRT+TV AGP RETAIL for $41 from NewEgg.com

I'm NOT A GAMER OR INTO GRAPHICS, so I just need a basic video card which has DVI for my Dell 1900FP LCD.

My order still says the pre-production was completed on the 19th, but the status shows now progress past that step.

(I also ordered the ati 9800. I also ordered the 2.66 p4, and 512 meg of memory...nothing else really so it shouldn't be all that tough)

I called Dell and they said last wed they had more orders than on any other day and were swamped. This is pretty slimey that they won't be able to ship within 3 weeks of my order. By the way, the phone support had no idea what the delay was and there was no documentation on my order to suggest why it is delayed.

I've sent an email to the address in the email they sent me, I'm still waiting for a reply. I may just cancel the order since I'm going to be out of town for most of the month of december and likely to be gone when they ship it (if the delay is accurate).

What is weird is that I ordered mine on Wed at about 5pm with the ati 9800, 2.8 p4, etc. and mine was shipped Saturday.... hope they didn't mess up the order!

I got the 2.66, 512, ATI 9800, etc. etc. etc.
