Expired temporary license

Ok my temporary license plate for a brand new car was expired on 30th last month and I do not have the permanent one in my hand at this time. It was delivered to my home address in houston and it's on its way to me so hopefully I'll receive it by friday.

The question is will I get pulled over for having a 3 days-expired temporary license plate? I really need to drive this car tommorow and I usually see 1~2 cops on my usual route.
Would "I haven't received it yet" excuse work? =]
Anyone has experience?

In Texas? They won't even run the tags, they'll just shoot you through the glass.

I drove my car for a month with the temp plate expired because the dealership was slow in getting my plates to me. Didn't have any problems.

I also drove for 2 weeks with an expired temp plate with my last car, because I just forgot to put the new plates on.

So in my opinion at least, chances of you getting stopped are pretty slim.

Probably varies from state to state, town to town, and cop to cop.

I got pulled over the first week of the new year for having an expired registration sticker and got a $125 ticket. I was easily spotted since registration stickers here are color-coded each year, and I still had a 2007 sticker on (my registration expired on my birthday, Dec 28, just a few days before). I've had friends who have driven around few a few months on expired registration without a problem (it helps if the registration expires early in the year, giving you plenty of time to drive relatively unnoticed).

Probably nothing to worry about.
If you did get stopped, probably wouldn't be for that.
Not saying your a bad person, just that cops usually look for more serious offenses unless they are really set on writing a ticket.

One of my coworkers had a temporary tag on her car for 6 months after she bought the car. :Q

Is the date even big enough to be visible from a distance?

yup it's bigger than the numbers in a permanent license plate w/ bunch of black masking tapes.
