Well, first you need to install php-nuke. Edit the config.inc.php i think it was to match the database information. nuke.sql into database using phpMyAdmin.. or anyway you prefer.extract the files into the htdocs folder or upload it to your website directory. it says to chmod some files i forget which ones. set up super admin and you should be set.

This was set up with 1and1 using PHP-nuke version 6.9 a few nights ago. You don't need to CHMOD jack, and in fact, their faq says that if you do, it will lock you out of SSH access completely. Upload PHP-nuke, modify the config.php, get the 6.9 installer from the same website that you download PHP-nuke at, upload it to the html directory, and run it. Took me a few hours of trial and error to figure out the exact process, and this might not be exactly what happened or what is required, it's just what I can remember. I do remember definitely, however, that I didn't have to touch permissions, and didn't use myPHPAdmin.

How do you get your page to load with only typing in www.yourdomain.com as opposed to www.yourdomain.com/index.php not really sure how to change this. btw i am using phpnuke.

http://faq.1and1.com that explains how to set up your mysql, ftp, ssh, etc. It appears that you can have unlimited domains sharing the space and bandwidth under the contract. To add a domain, it's in the faw I believe, but I just clicked transfer dns and have one of my spare domains now hosted there.

for getting you up and running with a domain. You don't HAVE to use their s9999999.homeonline.us domain.

I think by deleting the index.html or index.asp file that they put in your root will do that, because I have index.php in my root now and haven't selected anything to tell it to load that, but it does.

how do I change the DNS settings on domains registered via 1and1, does anyone know?

The only options I see is to re-direct to sub-dirs on my 1and1 acct, not change the DNS to some entirely other site... Will they ever release the domain names registered with their registrar?

i found alot of help at the forums at http://www.nukecops.com
i've installed it once, but on a different provider than 1and1 so i'm not sure if i'd be much help. i found if you do a search on the forum at nukecops for whatever error message you get they usually have an answer.

Does anyone know the full server path? I tried looking in their Questions and Answers and Help and Contact and couldn't find the full path. For example, for some servers, it would be httpdocs/userid/folder, for now I'm just using userid/folder and it doesn't look like my blogger is working. I have the blogger set to SFTP as well.

Login via SSH and type:
pwd<enter>

this will give you the full path. -Tal

Nuke Resources to the rescue. This install guide got this lame ass newbee up and running.

Anyone know of a good PHP photo album that is decent to look at and easy to install? I am still looking, but the best that I can find is B&W Photo Album. Pretty slick looking and easy to install.

EDIT: Of course you must set up a MySQL database on the 1&1 control panel and enter these in the PHP config file.

Did anyone get this to work with Blogger? The full path I found was:
/kunden/homepages/37/d87022276/htdocs

So in Blogger I typed in the following as the path:
/kunden/homepages/37/d87022276/htdocs/blogger/dcdomain

And typed in the following for the archive path:
/kunden/homepages/37/d87022276/htdocs/blogger/dcdomain/archive

It returns an error stating: 005 SftpException: No such file 005 SftpException: No such file

Is the path given back to me not the full path? I'm guessing d87022276 is somehow my designation even though it doesn't match up with my user id or the hostname on the server. Do I have to enter in my user id or hostname in the path somewhere? Perhaps after htdocs/?

If I only have the path set to /blogger/dcdomain/ without the full path, Blogger states that publishing was successful, but I can't view the post.

Anyone have any experiences with Blogger and 1and1? Thanks.

so I finally got it so I can upload using ws_ftp pro but can you use it to actually host pics and download directly from a link/url? or do you have to access everything via ftp?

I have a pic uploaded but can't figure out the url to it. what am I doing wrong? (the pic is in the main directory)

Ok just set up my site using their nifty Wizard....

Can I use their wizard to set up multiple different sites? It would be nice for admin on diff computers in diff locations? Or is the wizard set to only make you one canned website?
