How about (excessive) bandwidth?
If the data traffic generated by visitors to your website exceeds the free 5 GB in a given month, the additional bandwidth is charged at an industry-leading $0.99 per GB. The free traffic allowance is typically sufficient for a high 5-digit number of visitors.
Are there any limitations?
The offer expires December 31, 2003. That means only customers signing up prior to this date qualify for the 3 free years. Every customer can use the free offer only once and may not resell the service.
Why are you giving away a Professional Hosting Plan for free?
Our advertising agency asked us the same question! This is what we told them. We?ve been providing service to top US companies for years. So, when we wanted to expand to the end-user market, we decided to go with an offer only a global leader like ourselves could make. To show our confidence that at the end of the 3 years, you?ll be so impressed with our service that you?ll continue to work with us, and even recommend us to others. In other words, we?ve decided to invest more in you and less in our ad agency. Granted, this wasn?t the answer they were looking for, but we don?t exist to please them. We exist to please you.
Where is my website hosted?
Your site will be hosted in our Data Center in New York. In total, we own 2 and operate 4 Data Centers in the USA and Europe.

How can you pay for this promotion?
Cutting our advertising budget allows us to use the money to pay for the promotion. Less ads and the maximum use of grassroots word?of-mouth movement is our objective. We?re not worried about losing our shirt because, as the biggest web host in the world, we?re profitable, stable, and have been in this business for over a decade. Also, we control the entire value chain so we can buy servers, routers, connectivity, and bandwidth in bulk and that benefit is passed on to you.
How about support?
Any paid service of 1&1 comes with free 1&1 Express Support by Phone, Chat, or E-mail. However as the Professional Package promotion is completely free of charge, we had to limit the support to be handled via e-mail. But please feel free to send us as many e-mails as it takes to make and keep you a happy user. You will typically get an answer in the same or the next working day.
What are the obligations and commitments? Can I cancel anytime?
There are no obligations. You may cancel your account anytime. Unless you want to register domain names or you wish to add additional services, we even won?t ask you for a credit card.
How about existing and new domain names?
You can point up to 100 already registered domain names to your new 1&1 website. You may transfer them right away or over time. For a newly registered or transferred domain name, you pay just $5.99/year for each - all inclusive.
What happens after the three years?
You may seamlessly switch to any hosting plan ranging from $5 to $29 a month. Or you can decide to go for the full power of a Dedicated Server starting as low as $69 a month. Of course, you may also do so anytime within the 3 year period.
