well you can go to my website: http://nanopanda.tk and it has the 1and1 heade,r meaning that it has worked, but on my contorl panel it says:

nanopanda.tk No 1&1 name servers set yet Web space

Where do I set the name server? On TK or 1and1? I been search last night and couldn't find anyplace, can someone point me the right directrion?

Also to update my post above, you must call their customer service #, it's toll free, and ask for ur username and password if they dont send it to you like me. They said their servers were down ..

In your dot.tk panel where it asks the url referred enter your xxx.onlinehome.us address. That should be it.

This fits my needs fine, more than I need actually all I need is ftp access, 75mb of space, and no ads. I guess I can live with the popup ad.

waiting for my auth. call now, ty!

I've gotten Analog working by downloading my logfiles and running it on my computer. Haven't tried generating it online, so can't help you there. What's wrong with awstats? Does it not run at all or are you just having problems getting it to work with the multiple compressed log files?

If you do no know html/java/asp I would recomend using frontpage or something basic, then upload it via ftp or ssh. It is probably going to be easier than trying to figure out how to insert your own pics.

I just noticed this on the 1and1 webstatistics page.

Original log files are created daily by the Apache server and hold all the information received from website requests.
These files can be viewed using external applications.

To go to the FTP directory containing the original log files, click on Show FTP Directory. You will be promted to enter the FTP user data specified below.
The original log files are deleted after three months due to data protection regulations.

I'm not sure what data protection regulations they're referring to but I'm guessing that they just don't want to spend server space for your log files. So it seems like a good idea to save the logs locally if you want to keep permanent records.

There is a lot of existing and/or in-progress data-protection legislation going on in European countries, The Register runs a lot of stories on them. I believe that European ISPs are required by law to keep access records for three months or so. They probably keep them that long due to legal requirements, and would most likely not want to waste server space on them.

Im thinking about signing up.

The $5.99 domain name that they offer, has anyone signed up for that? Do you need a credit card for that, and how do they bill you for it?

If you go over your bandwith are you notified before they start charging you for extra bandwith?

get your domain name somewhere else. rumor has it that they want to hold onto it should you decide to transfer it.

supposedly they send an email when you get close to goiing over your bandwidth limit.

Just another positive word for 1and1. Been using them for about a month now. They're fast and easy to use. A+

www.ericcwu.com is my site...not much there, but you can tell 1and1 works!

http://www.rackshack.net It isn't rackshack anymore but going to that site will auto-redirect you to their new one. I bought my domain from them. They are reasonably priced and setup time wasn't bad.

Doht.... This answers my question posted above.
Can I transfer an external subdomain?
Unfortunately, you cannot transfer an external subdomain to 1&1 Servers. An example of a subdomain is sub.domain-of-your-choice.com. The "sub" part refers to a subdomain. You can only use subdomains created in your 1&1 account.

Of course you can transfer the domain itself to 1&1. To do so, use the Add on a Domain Process which you can reach by clicking on Configuration & Administration > Domains > Add on Domain in your Control Panel.

I purchased a domain from them to go with this sweet deal. The rumors about them not allowing you to transfer the domain are dead wrong. You can transfer this domain to any other registrar you like.
