In your dot.tk panel where it asks the url referred enter your xxx.onlinehome.us address. That should be it.

but it was already all configured like that for a while now... 1 and 1 wanted me to change my DNS address on the dot.tk account but i don't know how to... 1 and 1 said to change it to this: ns27.1and1.com

I had my domain ready and everything (i got one from rackshack) Now I logged into 1and1 to edit it and it doesn't show me the edit option for that domain in the DOmain overview page although it gives me an option to edit the domain provided by 1and1.

Any help on this please ???

give it 48hrs to propogate. if you did everything correctly, it will show will show up so u can edit it.

Are you referring to the form letter you received from them? If you started the process of changing the domain to dot.tk, which you can't and don't need to, then that form letter just is sent to let you know it hasn't worked. They are not telling you that you have to do it just that the process you started hasn't been completed.

If that is what happened, I did the same thing which is why I am assuming that is what you did, then just ignore it. Once you have entered you onlinehome address in dot.tk you are good to go.

I'm sorry if this has already been addressed, but are there any benefits to registering a domain directly through 1&1's services as opposed to registering a domain from another registrar and using the DNS transfer? Or will everything be just as functional?

There is no benefit - I would suggest NOT using 1&1 for registering your domain name, go to godaddy.com or similar place.

Okay, this is silly. I did the WebSiteCreator thing, but it still shows the "this domain has just been registered etc." message. I've read thru all the messages here, I've looked at all the help stuff I could find, no luck. Okay, I'm dumb.

How do I look at the files to see if I need to delete the "index.html" or whatever?
