I was involve in the early imac studies.. their target are women that think it's cute..

they don't want to play games. this is the answer.

My iBook and Simcity 4 will disagree.

ooh. that and UT2K4, and maybe doom 3 are like the only games out on mac. Meh. If I can't tinker with it, I don't want to by it.

Since I don't get my jollies playing games I say that it's great for me.

But hey, if you enjoy playing games more than social interaction, I commend you.

Sheesh. Look at my graphics card, you think I actually play all that many games? I sit here and forum whore more that....

I couldn't even tell you what your signature means anymore. I am out of the hardware loop. It just isn't worth keeping on top of.

Because of the OS which is effing light years ahead of Windows in stability and Linux in terms of usability.

I can't wait for OSX on the x86 platforms...I most likely will switch to an Apple/modified OSX to run it on my PC platform boxes.

Same.

I got a Mac becasue it's stable, easy to use, and it just works. I spent 10+ years with Windows and know how to use it - I still use it daily on my HTPC. But after dealing with everything that happens on a Windows box its nice to have something that just works. OS X is loaded with tons of features from it's unix base that I don't even know how to use. Throw on top a slick GUI and why wouldn't you want to use it?

My PC is probably 2-3 times 'better' in terms of hardware for the same price - but my Mac came with OS X and the rest of the Apple software which IMO more than makes up for the price.

I love my PC more than my Mac, but when it comes to getting stuff done (3D graphics, video editing, design), I'd take my 17" Powerbook any day. No distractions, no freezing or slowing down... just work.

Mac OS X is a very well thought-out OS.. and I'm primarily a Windows user.

Both have different pros and cons, and it so happens that Mac OS X is a lot more user-friendly.. plus it's also easier to support.
