Expresscard in Haiti... a little confused

So I'm going to be making a trip to Haiti in a couple weeks, and I don't know how consistent the connection that I'm going to be able to access is going to be. I figure I'm going to need something like an aircard, or an express card, or a data card, but I don't really know which one would be best (or even what the difference is).

In addition to that, do I need to purchase one and purchase the plan here, or would the access be something that I purchased once I went to Haiti?

I'd appreciate some help with this... I'm leaving the 26th, so I figure I'll need to have all of this shit together, and sooner rather than later.

Check with your cell phone vendor to see if they have a cellular modem that will work there. Personally, mine, thru Alltel (prior to the Verizon purchase of them, we are still alltel in our region) was able to work in any US territory in the Caribbean (Successful @ St. Thomas and PR), but did not work in Mexico (tried it at both Cozumel & Costa Maya). I do not know if it was because neither location in Mexico had a developed cell phone network there, or if it was due to regional limitations.

Get a USB one, and you should be ready to rock, assuming your carrier supports that location.
