for old people maybe but not too many will care about their roots. The name is bad and its typical AMD I think. Tacky shroud design, bad name.

It could be bad because people who rage online are called salty etc. The name also does not signify strength, speed or anything like that. Just anger and red.

furies aren't good

Being associated with rage/fury could backfire when they criticize nvidia. They'd just be ragers or salty (pretty easy to be called a rager online if u just disagree). etc .etc...

Fiji XT is better if they could use it. Ares wasn't bad and those gods in mythology beat the titans.

not smart to be going for bad now.

Furies punish wrong doers. Specifically those who hurt people trying to help and support them. Hurtful children, governments... While I doubt that's AMD's intent, I can see the application.

As far as the design being tacky, the only pic I've seen of an actual card, not just a render, it looks pretty nice, IMO.

The ATI brand always had those types of names. What are they going to call it instead? AMD Radeon Powerpuff?

It is silly that we are arguing about this, if it outperforms Titan and is in your price range when people are looking, enthusiasts will buy. People who buy graphics cards off the shelf at a BestBuy will by swayed by the brand more than the name.

Little do we know that they're just branding new APUs with Radeon Fury and Fiji still has another codename...

Imagine if they call it AMD Radeon.....ATI!

Or AMD Radeon nATIt, which is Titan in reverse.

It would be awesome because it would have ATI and a tit in the same word.

Yes I am sleep deprived and too much Witcher I guess. Goodbye now.

I Think Fiji was better than Fury. Titan? Get Fiji. I don't feel the connection between Titan and Fury though.

Fiji is the name of the chip, though.

I don't think it was ever going to be the name of the card.

Although it doesn't sound like a bad idea to use the chip names and say you have an AMD Tonga card instead of saying you have an R9-285.

Tonga Pro and Tonga XT sound like okay card names to me.

I still like my original suggestions for the new card, though.

Radeon Fury Pro
Radeon Fury XT

Would have preferred something like AMD Kraken for some hard consonants + tie in the AIO water cooling aspect. If they really wanted to phone it in, they could have even gone with AMD Triton...

Titan is evocative of something big; AMD Fury is almost too close to furry (I guess I only have myself to blame for that) and sounds like something I would have thought was cool when I was 13.

Well, its not like my 7950 was planning on going anywhere until Pascal/Arctic Islands anyway.

I don't mind the Fury name, but think I like your Kraken better! Lets hope it at least equals the Titan performance to deserve such a name though!

NZXT already calls their AIO GPU bracket the Kraken, and it is specified as a trademarked name. AMD couldn't use it for that reason.

I would have preferred radeon COLOSSUS rather than fury. Fury doesn't sound that interesting or special and it even doesn't sound ant big. FURY name IMO is a total fail.
