Again as someone in this position I would listen, and be more willing to wait.

As you even pointed out you, me and many others are waiting for aftermarket coolers on the 980ti, and this AMD card. Once those Aftermarket coolers hit the 980ti with up to 25% overclocks how many more are going to stop being so patient for AMD to make a move.

We probably won't get aftermarket versions for a month or two I'd imagine for the 980 Ti to be fair.

I'm on the fence and about to buy a 980ti. So no I don't think the current leaks are enough, at all, especially considering half the leaks/rumors say the thing is a dud.

Not everyone that is going to go nvidia would have gone no matter what, again I'm in that camp. I would easily buy a Fiji card if it were faster. I'm running 4k I need that extra power.

frankly, their waiting on say anything official about the power of Fiji even though the 980ti was released at a decent price point, is sad. Yes we all know it will probably be coming on the 16th, but I hate to break it to both you and AMD but people are impatient, and don't like to wait, especially when there's a viable alternative right now. The only thing keeping me from getting a 980ti is the lack of available non reference coolers, and a small part because I want to see what AMD has first, but that is starting to wain.

Its a two week wait dude, seriously, just wait. If you can't wait two weeks you were going to buy nvidia regardless...

Then wait.

This is about as "legit" from AMD as its going to get for actual seeded leaks:

~50-65% faster than R290X. Note that this was awhile ago, names will change and indeed Fury has been the go to naming scheme.

So that was when people thought 390X was Fiji, so the benchmarks reflect that Fiji is 50-65% faster than 290X, which would not be all that impressive.

Well there's people here who are dismissing Fiji altogether worse than that, "only 20% faster than 980!!" or "slower than 980Ti!" etc.

60% faster than R290X would put it well faster than Titan X*. On premature drivers from long ago, on ES rated at 1ghz core clock.

So who knows how it ends up eh? If they crank it to 1150mhz, could well stomp all over Titan X.

* Titan X is 40-45% faster than R290X models which hold 1Ghz and not reference ones that throttle.

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/computex-2015-exclusive-amd-fiji-gpu-die-photo.html

The development costs for this GPU are high and apparently it performs around the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, some partners indicated that that the performance might acually be a notch lower.

Conversely this says that it is currently slower than a 980ti and that amd is trying to tweak the clocks.

I dont necessarily put stock in that slide seeing as how it showed 390x although I suppose the decision to make it Fiji could have come later. That said the numbers are for 4k performance. This would make it about the same speed as Titan X.

Who gains from people believing that Fiji is rubbish, massive die, new ram tech, slower than 980Ti? NV, due to more sales!

See what I mean? Leaks and the nature of it, you can spin it anyway you want.

So if you've made up your mind to go with NV, then go. Otherwise sit sight for another two weeks.

Obvioulsy I haven't made up my mind or I would have cards winging my way to me as we speak. The idea that if someone goes nvidia they would have always done so is rubbish at best. My point is these rumors go both ways, one says it's amazing the other says otherwise.

We'll see when aftermarket coolers hit the 980ti, I think that if it's before amd makes their move, than a lot of people will have made up their mind all along to go with Nvidia. Hahahaha.

For the record I own AMD cards now and have for a long time now, not exactly an Nvidia fan boy.

Tying the 980ti is sort of a mixed bag, I think.

I was expecting quite a lot from the new chip and the HBM.

Well, the "Fiji leak" was at UHD.

BF4 at UHD, the 980ti was 60% faster than 290X at stock speeds.

The difference from 73 (R290X) -> 104 (Titan X) is ~42%.

AMD R9 Fury X Is Potentially The Fastest GPU in The World – How Fast Can Fiji XT Realistically Be ?

Read more: http://wccftech.com/amd-hbm-fury-x-fastest-world/#ixzz3c0XXtlpE

Heh i find it funny that their performance estimate assumes two things:

1. No uarch improvements
2. No advantage of new memory & subsystem

Just on raw increase from R290X... it ends up faster than Titan X already.

"Matt Skynner CVP and General Manager of AMD’s GPU and APU products touted the company’s upcoming flagship Fury X as the world’s fastest GPU. As he proclaimed today at the company’s Computex press conference that “HBM enables us to build the fastest GPU in the world” when referring to Fiji."

How much more "leaks" from AMD do people want?

We have Joe saying Fiji should not be more power hungry than R290X. We have Matt saying Fiji is the fastest GPU in the world..

Oh, you know why these slides are legit?

Look at the terminology.

The leak from March came from AMD's presentation to its AIB partners, IMO.

TSV = their new memory controller is at the base of each stack, thus, there's no IMC on the GPU die, reducing die complexity and saving space etc.

That wasn't from me bro. Learn to read.

AMD is saying they have the world's fastest GPU with Fiji.
AMD is also saying Fiji isn't more power hungry than R290X.

You can figure the rest yourself.

This goes to what I mentioned earlier, if AMD leaks, people call it BS, fud, hype-train, cherry picking etc.

What exactly do people expect, AMD hold official press conference months ahead of GPU launch like NV did with Fermi? I guess even if they did that, people would call them out for being desperate and spreading more fud anyway.

Point is there's leaks to suggest whatever you want to believe. So for buyers on the fence, wait and see.
