I didn't want to hijack the other thread about extending wireless, but I've got a question about extending my wireless. I've got my router hooked up to my modem in one end of the house. I want to extend (or boost?) my wifi signal on the other end of the house so I can stream movies to my projector outdoors with better signal. I have an old wrt54g laying around and was thinking of using it to act as an access point or a boost (not sure of the terminology here). My question is, does the wrt54g need to be hardwired to the network? Or will it pick up the wireless signal from the first router and then transmit it? Reason I'm asking is because 1 side of my house is wired, the other half isn't.
