External/supplemental/backup batteries

Anyone use an external, supplemental, or backup battery they are particularly fond of? I'm looking for one to supplement the battery life of my iPhone 5.

i just go by buyer reviews on this kind of stuff. it almost entirely depends on the li-ion cells they choose to use for whatever model they make... so if you find a model where people seem to like the charge life then just go with that. there are some that have better features or just better circuitry.. but for the most part they are all the same functionality wise. and usually, the more expensive models will come with better battery life but its not always the case.

you got it. some 1300mah labled cells outlast 2400mah labled ones, or sometimes they give about the same but start losing their life quickly after a few dozen recharges.

you just have to find a model that others have verified is good. its not that big of deal really, and in general the higher the mah the better, but you just never really know.

Thanks wirednuts! I'm really just looking to supplement my battery life for a trip to Disney. I'm carrying around a backpack so I'd thought I toss in something to get me through a full day in the park.

I am anxiously awaiting the new Mophie for iPhone 5.

Until then, if I were going to Disney (Land? World?), I would bring a charging cable with me and power up during meals (and in the Tiki Room!).

I am not going to buy one right now as I do not have anything on my calendar that will require its use. As soon as I am told I am going to Disneyland, I will order one

I bought this for $20 for my SIIX: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B007...ls_o00_s00_i00 You get a charger and two batteries. Works amazingly and perfect for travelling.

I got one in China for like $30 USD or something. It's decently high quality. I would've preferred a smaller one. I've seen the tube sized ones in Hong Kong before, but I'm guessing those only have ~2-3k mAh. Mine has 7500 mAh so I can do some hardcore Ingressing

Interesting that it uses a Mini-USB. I guess they could only afford one license for the Lightening plug (on the phone side).
