Well I picked up the camera, finally.
Before travelling the hour long trip to the store that had my camera, I called and asked to verify availbility. Three phone calls and 35 minutes later, I found out that they did not have the product where it was supposed to be, "Bin 7". Some lady that worked at that Sears called me back 20 minutes later and said that they had found the camera. Meanwhile, I called the guy who sold me the camera and he was, as always, very helpful and suportive. I decided (based on a reccomendation from both sears reps) to go to the store.
When I arrived, they told me that they had sold the camera. They doubted that the price could be so low so they called the store from which I bought it to verify. After a few minutes we concluded:
1. They had lost my reciept that I gave them to check stock.
2. They did NOT have the camera in stock, despite their computer saying they had 4 (one less since yesterday.. suprise, since I ordered it then).
The sales rep (the good guy who sold it to me) told me that his manager and he had located the camera at other locations, however, they would close in 5 minutes and I needed the camera.
The person who had lost my reciept and given me hassle before (at the far away store) decided to starting being nice and offered that should I wish to travel to a place about 1/2 way between this place and my house, that he would get someone to wait in the parking lot with the camera for me. He knew the security guard and someone else who, typically, didn't leave until 10:00 anyways.
Because I needed the camera tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:30 and I get off work at 6:00, I decided to go get it tonight. The manager did the necessary paperwork, gave me directions, and I was on my way. After the 45 minute drive (OK, so it's a litle out of the way) I gave the security guard the reciept and got the camera.
All in all, quite a harsh night. I haven't had a chance to use the camera yet, but I will have a talk with my salesguy tomorrow. I'm going to ask him to try to do a follow-up pricematch to the 526$ price. If it works, great. If not, still a good deal.
Thanks for listening!
