very damning eyewitness evidence of the disaster of iraq.....
he says USA lost and is should try to start damage control asap..
He said fallujah was a tactical victory but strategiclly it meant nothing except make it worse.
who didn't see this coming....
Saying he has seen our soldiers shoot wounded prisoners almost daily....

-Journalist Michael Ware is the Baghdad Bureau Chief for Time Magazine --this man sounds tired and worn out
you can hear the PTSD....interviewer just pointed it out.. this is horrible stuff

this would be funny, but it's too sad now.

And where are the forum armchair patriotic hawks now?

I wonder what he would have said about Europe or Japan during WWII? A country at war is a disaster! The World Trade Center was a disaster!

That is the stupidest thing I've read all morning. WWII wasn't a war of choice, and a determined insurgency staffed by homicidal maniacs didn't bog down the occupation and reconstruction of those areas.

As for 9/11, Iraq had nothing to do with it.

Interesting you guys posted this.

All of the RRR FLL Agenda Radio Hosts have been saying the last 2 days that Fallujah was a Total Masterful victory for the U.S. and that we will only hear bad news from the Media.

In fact they were touting that 1,200 Insurgents were killed in the Offensive.

So are the Radio Show hosts right or eyewitnesses actually in Iraq???

So you believe he's lying Cad?

(oh, and many of us wouldn't be so ANTI-Bush if he hadn't started the dumbfvck Iraq war - and maybe hadn't run up so many deficits. The man did wonderfully right after 9-11, but has sure stunk it up since just after that!)

I think it's amazing how good of a job our troops are doing over there. And I find it even more stunning that we haven't had much more casualties with the type of dirty warfare that is going on. On another note, when war is no longer 'a disaster' we will be all doomed.

The men and women that have lost their lives over there, have done more for my country than this journalist did telling me war is a disaster! Although it is an anti-war persons belief that these terrorists can be appeased, understand that war is the exact opposite of such a theory.

I would agree with your statement except for the fact that this war has created MORE terrorists.

Well boys, find an eyewitness account that supports your side and I'll read/listen to it.

I don't think it has created more terrorist. Do you really think that if bin Laden's organization wasn't crushed that he would rather put out another audio statement, or blow up another American building? If he could, he would be doing even more heinous acts than 9/11.

Unless of course you are considering anti-americans (anti westernization) people all over the world, including the USA.

I didn't say that -but I will take it for what it is - opinion of one man who covers things how he sees fit.

Fine, but Bin Laden was in Afghanistan. Should've finished him off THERE.

WWII wasn't a war of choice, and a determined insurgency staffed by homicidal maniacs didn't bog down the occupation and reconstruction of those areas.

In Germany and Japan the US lost over 10,000 soldiers in the post war occupation. Hostilities occured for almost a decade after the official end of the war.

Give me a break. There will always be people that are pissed that they have lost power, likewise there will always be external forces exerting themselves in the forum of a 'resistance'. In the same way that we helped, aided, and funded much of the French resistance during WWII.

People just weren't giant pussies back then.

I would agree with your statement except for the fact that this war has created MORE terrorists.

It has also killed more terrorists.

You have to be stupid to miss the entire point of this war. It was to drag the terrorists out of the caves, and into the waiting hands of those that are best trained to kill them. 120,000 soldiers sitting here at home were not killing many terrorists, much less keeping them busy and occupied. Hence, they had time and money to plot and plan.

120,000 soldiers are now bringing the fight to them. Doing a few things.

1. Killing them.
2. Killing more importantly, experienced membership.
3. Forcing them to use resources (guns, ammo, explosives, etc...) that otherwise could have been used elsewhere.
4. Forcing the leadership to hide underground, limiting communication and training.
5. Did I say killing them?

It is pretty damn simple what the goal was here. In my opinion it was brilliant. We can just wait for them to either kill themselves or get killed by us. It is perfect in terms of strategy. What smarter than giving them a little kick in the a$$ to all congregate in one area for us.

Either he is lying (actually he's just accentuating the negative, and talking slippery reporter talk) or the marines I read letters from every day in Fallujah, some of them personal friends of mine, are lying. Guess who I believe.

Iraq war was un-needed and uncalled for. 56% (and slowly rising) of the US people now think it WASN'T worth fighting. That's the new mandate!!!

Give them their elections and start the pullout!!!

Thanks. You just proved Darkhawks point! (probably not because he is a foreigner, but more of person not in your camp - the war is great...the war is great)
