EZCD, XP burning question

Finally got EZCD istalled and running, now I have another problem. When I used copy a cd under Nero, I could do a full cd burn in just under 4 minutes. Now, under EZCD, it takes about 6-6:15 minutes. Also, I cannot do anything else while I am doing a burn. It is almost like the whole CPU is being used to burn and is not avail for anything else. Like a big LAG in a game! Anyone face this and what did you do to fix it. I really like the face on EZCD and I really need the audio recording features for analog tapes. I do not really want to go back to Nero if i do not have to. HELP!!!

How did you get it running? Mine just stalls at the recording process.

Install Roxio with out ANY extras besides the Easy CD creation software and the label maker, then DL the XP update. This has worked several times for me, and although slow, Roxio now works pretty well under XP.

6-6:15 is normal for Roxio, I don't know why my 24x CD Burner takes that long, but it does.

I could live with the burning time, but the lag just drives me out of my mind. I want to be able to do other things while a cd burns.

I agree that EZCD is sluggish under XP. However, I use musicmatch jukebox for audio burning and ripping.

Did you run force/aspi Win XP as all win aps like that,I just loaded XP and burned a music CD with nero and backed up a game with CDclone
and you DON'T LIKE NERO ,I have a lot of Coasters from EasyCD

I am not sure what the force/aspi is, never heard of it, could you explain?

Kinda hit and miss I guess. I ran XP and it was just as fast as everything else. I have the Plextor 16/10/40A. How you install things (as in the order) is important. There was a thread somewhere that explained it pretty well in the forums. Search for it I guess.

I do install some extra ASPI drivers to get CDRWIN to run as well. It could be that they are the difference. There are also some ASPI options in Roxio I think.
