Trump fans might get mad if all the porn streaming sites get dicked over by this. Then again, they'd probably be too stupid to put 2+2 together and figure it out.

Is that why so many of the top vids are always incest plots?

So that's the shared interest the Southerners have with a New Yorker...

God they are really really evil. There is no other word that works. Allowing ISPs to fuck with content is so dangerous that it infringes on free speech in my opinion. With these evil fucks loading up the Supreme Court to confirm these anti-free speech FCC rules, we are quickly becoming an extremely unfree country.

It's like parental controls or Chinese internet, huh?

Using my hard-earned money to fund a group that will fight for the internet that my tax dollars built (well, my parents' tax dollars, but you get the idea; I think these ISPs still get government subsidies, so yeah, my tax dollars). Yeah, fuck you Pai and the horse you rode in on, you sack of maggot-infested sewage-soaked infected assholes. It's a wonder anyone besides greedy corporate shitbags have any respect for you.

Like many, I only have one choice for internet - Comcast. Luckily I have the means to support a hike in prices, but I know many do not, and no one can go without internet. I hope this wakes some people up and we get the ball rolling on cementing net neutrality (and, wishful thinking, opening up the last-mile) once and for all. To rise you must fall, or something like that. Sick of this shit.

please donate to the EFF. this will need to be taken to court for sure.

And add this to a list of things to contact your public representatives about, why they're important to you and where you stand on them, and make clear that these are things that will dictate how you vote.

and that one ISP is about to tier that shit up, hope you dont like streaming.

What's ironic is that how television manufacturers are pushing 4k, hdr, oled, etc. and in the near future 8k, streaming ready of course because this is the future, no more need for antiquated DVD or Blu ray,

but due to the stagnation and possibly regression of internet speeds (for those with limited funds) and quality due to the FCC along with the reluctance of local carriers investing in things such as fiber most will only be able to experience the full capabilities of the latest televisions with physical media like Blu-ray and Blu-ray hd.

This is one area the government should have gotten involved with like in the past when they helped connect rural America with electricity and phone access only in this case it would be with fiber,

but we all know any type of government subsidy is bad except when it is the Chinese government subsidizing their industries so we can enjoy cheap prices that no "free market bound over regulated" American company can compete with.

No, because their news sources say this is a good thing, if they mention it at all.

The average Republican voter is completely oblivious. This shit should enrage them, they just shrug their shoulder. This in spite of the fact of the substantial material harm that is being done to them personally by this. Bewildering as all hell for me. If we could just get these people to fight for their own self-interests. The magnitude of what is being lost is impossible to exaggerate and we are going to lose it with a barely a whimper.

And this is going to stop implementation of the new FFC regulations how? Are you trying to sabotage resistance to the new FCC regulations or something? Get off this thread please.

Nothing will stop it, but if it wakes someone up, it's worth posting.

Well. This is concerning. The whole public comment process may have been corrupted and the FCC won't even consider it.

From NY's AG.

https://medium.com/@AGSchneiderman/an-open-letter-to-the-fcc-b867a763850a

As you recently announced, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), under your leadership, soon will release rules to dismantle your agency’s existing “net neutrality” protections under Title II of the Communications Act, which shield the public from anti-consumer behaviors of the giant cable companies that provide high-speed internet to most people. In today’s digital age, the rules that govern the operation and delivery of internet service to hundreds of millions of Americans are critical to the economic and social well-being of the nation. Yet the process the FCC has employed to consider potentially sweeping alterations to current net neutrality rules has been corrupted by the fraudulent use of Americans’ identities — and the FCC has been unwilling to assist my office in our efforts to investigate this unlawful activity.

Specifically, for six months my office has been investigating who perpetrated a massive scheme to corrupt the FCC’s notice and comment process through the misuse of enormous numbers of real New Yorkers’ and other Americans’ identities. Such conduct likely violates state law — yet the FCC has refused multiple requests for crucial evidence in its sole possession that is vital to permit that law enforcement investigation to proceed.

Presidents always appoint members of the opposition party to seats on the FCC as by law, the split is always 3-2 between the two parties. If you think a different Republican appointee wouldn't be doing the same thing Pai is you're delusional.

It's shocking just how ignorant some people are of basic functions of government.

States should regulate this. I know Pai boi thinks he can preempt it. OK, but it will slow him down while it plays out in the courts. Keep passing new state regulations while that is ongoing. Hopefully Repugs get flushed form all levels of government and then this can get reversed.

Do people actually believe that other people on the internet are Russian Trolls!? Do you realize how crazy that sounds!?

If you have an argument, then present it, otherwise kindly stfu.

It is really, no kidding, a thing. Either you're ignorant to the possibility of there actually being people on a forum (even AT) intentionally attempting to sway public opinion, or you're being intentionally disingenuous. Given the number of times I've seen you post something to this effect (Russian trolls? That's crazy talks!), that's enough alone for me to raise an eyebrow.

I can't even understand what his point is. Is he suggesting that we go after Obama to try and stop this? News flash, Obama has no political power anymore.
