Congrats guys!

We scored 53,151 points today. Still a bit lower than expected, but still higher than in the past. Our PPD average is up to 55k points. This has brought another team into our scope for overtake, but just barely. The only team that is gunning for us is coming at us hard and fast, they have an 87k PPD average. They are still a couple million points behind us, so it'll be a few months, but it'd be pretty hard to catch up to that PPD. Still, everyday we slow them down more. We'll be able to pass 2 more teams long before they catch up.

Our active users hit an all-time high of 179, above average. It will be interesting to see how our points do in the next few days with more active users and more machines going online.

I got a question. Why am I getting really low points for work units now? I had an 11 pointer yesterday and had a 17 pointer today. I have never had anything that low and its really killing my production. My normal work units are normally in the 300-600 range.

@JonnyBlaze: Hi and welcome! Those temps are absolutly normal for a P4 3 GHz under 100% load, nothing to worry about.

@buddry: Do you have the CLI set to receive also the big WUs? If not sure, just stop the CLI and start it with the "-configonly" flag, and it'll let you configure the client. Then there'll be a question, if you also want to receive big WUs --> that's a YES! But then again, sometimes you just don't get the big WUs and just some smaller ones. I had 6 600point WUs in a row, but now then some smaller 60point WUs came in and now it's pretty much mixed. I guess, that almost all the big teams are trying to go for the big 600 point WUs, which makes them pretty rare after a while. And besides that, I think that the F@H team also wants their other WUs crunched as well, so they might restrict those WUs somehow.

It's perfectly fine, my 3.2C @ 3.6 ran 55-60C folding. Are you running two instances of F@H to take advantage of HT?

Does running two at once with HT enabled go faster than running one with HT disabled? If it does then i'll have to run two on my P4 2.8C. Whenver i try to open a second F@H it tells me there is already one running and that this instance will now close. Can you tell me how to get two running at once.
Thanks
Big Al

I'll try to dig up my old setup guide for you but I'll try a quick and dirty explanation.
First make sure HyperThreading is enabled before trying this. Create another folder (Say you're running F@H from C:\Program Files\Folding@Home, create Folding@Home 2 or something similar) and copy the fah502-console.exe file into it. Open up the file with the -configonly flag (you can modify a shortcut or just open it from a command line) and configure the client as normal, making sure to change the advanced options and set the Machine ID to 2 (prevents conflicts). Then start the client as normal (open the fah502-console.exe file or start the service if you chose that option) and you should have both clients running.

I see a 17 point WU, but no 11 pointers. The 11 must have been an EARLY_END. How long did it take to crunch them? And on what speed computer?

@bigal40
If I run one BigWU on a P4 3.0@3.3 I get 265 points per day (ppd)
If I run two BigWUs, I get 165 ppd from each instance = 330 ppd

You can't run two GUIs. One GUI and one CLI or two CLIs.

You have to configure a CLI to a different MachineID other than "1". You can have eight MachineIDs per computer.

If you have ever installed the GUI on the computer, you should add the -local flag to the startup shortcut.

I am not sure how long it took, I do not have daily access to all of the PCs. But they are all 2.6 ghz P4s or higher.

Thanks for the stats malak  for you!

buddry: I'm guessing you have overclocked your system. Most of the time, when you see those early ends to work units it is because system instability has caused it. The good news is that you get points for what you did complete (fraction of points = fraction of completion). It's the same idea as running Prime95 or memtest.... some instabilities are very subtle and don't show unless/until you run an application that is very processor and/or RAM intensive for a long period of time.

You might want to try slightly less agressive RAM timings or a less agressive overclock. F@H is a great way to find the 100% stable 'sweet spot' when you are overclocking.

PS: On a side note.... there are brandy new Video cards in both of my computers and OMG ...... sorry for the production costs, but these things MAKE me game!

Well, gleem said there are 17 point WUs out there so that is possible. And my PC did crash once so that could be what caused that.

Thanks for the help guys. It was just wierd that I had those small pointers right together when I hadn't ever seen anything below 50.
