I'm the same way, I think it is a function of the big WU's. Some days I do 400 and others I do 1200. I don't get nice uniform results day to day. But the big WU's do improve the overall, so I just try to focus on the big picture.

I can only get like 100-250 a day with one computer... are you guys running like 3-5 computers?

I run 4 PCs total (P4 3.2 @ 3.6, Athlon XP 2500+ @ 3200, AXP 2200 @ 2400, A64 3200). Only one (the A64) has the big WU flag on, I really should enable it on the XP3200.

I know with the big WU flag on you will get bigger WUs, but does that affect how many points you get? Does getting more, smaller ones get your more points, or the other way around?

The big units are worth more points. I believe GLeeM did some calculations as to what the actual bonus was and it was pretty sizeable. I'm just too lazy to hunt down the steps to change the F@H service registry entry to add the -advmethods flag, and then actually do it.

I run 3 computers: Dual Xeon 1.6@2.5 w/1GB ram, P4 3.0C@3.3 w/1GB, PIII 1.0 w/256MB
None are dedicated, each gets some other than F@H usage. The kids use the P4 many hours each day, which cuts into its ppd.

I run Double Point BigWUs on all seven instances. The PIII cannot do much besides F@H when I run BigWU on it. I can do anything on the other two and not notice F@H running! Even the dually with four instances running I highly recommend running the BigWUs if you have enough ram. My points per day would be cut in half if I didn't.

Our TeAm's daily average would be almost double if the whole TeAm ran BigWUs. Instead of 40,000 we would average 80,000 points per day!!!!!!!!

This bonus could end.
Sometimes, if the server is down you will get normal WUs.

Stanford uses a P4 2.8 to determine points, if you had the same computer you should average 110 points per day.

The bonus is double the points of what you would get on a slightly low ppd Gromac WU. If most Gromacs gave me ~125-130 ppd, the BigWU without bonus would be ~118-120 ppd. So I would get ~236-240 ppd!

If you can consistantly get Double Gromac WUs, do not do BigWUs.
I can get 3x ppd with DGros. But I can't seem to get them anymore

I have eight. Five at home and three at my office. (with emphasis on MY)

None real powerful. They range from P3 450 to AMD XP 2000+, and some sharing 50/50 with Setiboinc.

So I am up and down the production list like a yo-yo because of the different size WU's finishing at different times and credit being given at different times. But it all sorts out sooner or later.

Thanks to the F@H Community Forums:

1/ Shut down that instance through the Services manager snap-in
2/ Run regedit and go to key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<service name> and edit the entry ImagePath, adding whatever flags you wish to the end. Exit regedit.
3/ Re-open the Services manager snap-in, and verify that your changes appear there, and then restart the service.

Or, if you want to be really brave and really lazy, you could check out the utility in this thread.
