F@H Stats Program - What does this thing do?

Before I load it up, please tell me what it does...how intrusive is it? Does it just mirror stats off the Stanford page or something? Thanks.

It installs in one folder, there is no spyware that I could find in it. While it needs to check with the Stanford servers on occasion to get up to date project score info, this is only done when you click on the button in the Preferences to do so manually (perhaps it can be set up on auto, but I've never tried to find an option like this). It monitors your progress by reading some data files from the folder that F@H is installed in. Therefore, it is quite easy to make read-only access to the F@H folder on networked computers to monitor more than one machine from one instance of F@H LogStats.

F@H Logstats is a great program - I use it every day to make sure my herd is all up and running. Best thing is that it works flawlessly with administrative shares run from an admin account.

It reads some files in the F @ H directory to show you some info. All the good stuff I told you about in the other thread.

From Settings you will need to Add your client(s) and give that client a friendly name. The .exe file of the GUI is named winFAH.exe.

On the general settings tab you will find a button to Update the project info. It gets this from Stanford. I think it is a special file that Stanford has just for these monitor programs with the info from the Project Summary page. You know about that already. It gets the WUs point value from here so that it can estimate your points per day. The GUI must finish a WU step before the monitor prog can read (from the log file) the time taken to do its estimate.

Whenever I want to see how the current WU is doing, I open the monitor. It can be left open and set to refresh its display as often as you want (from 1 min up to 5 hr).
