Re: Bowie
After smoking dope for the US government at UCLA and scoring more money than I'd ever had at one time for doing so, the magnificent sum of around $2,400 (94 day live-in program), I then crossed the country back East in order to grab a flight to Europe. Along the way I met an English woman who was "married" (sort of) to an actor in the Royal Shakespeare Company. So, when I was first in London, I stayed with a group of actors in that company in Woolwhich.
Her SO was the nicest guy in the world. It was he who'd bought the house with his earnings in which we all stayed. He got to sleep with some truly famous actresses*, and it was he who told me that the real force behind Bowie was his wife, who basically molded him into the persona that made him famous.
I think this is kind of well known in certain circles, but was total news to me.
*Jane Seymour was one (Just remembered.)
