I can see how a professor whose field is same sex relationship studies could be angered by Republicans using the "coming out" terminology considering how regularly republicans do their best to squash the rights of the LGBT community. I can sympathize with the anger and irritation she felt at that email. However as a college professor her response was inappropriate. She should be more restrained and measured than that and she put forth a poor example for her students.
