9 Hours? Every side mission? I doubt it.

All the Jobs (lumber, blacksmith, civil service, bar)?
All the Side missions? 5 stars on prisoners, assassin, archeology, statues, lady grey?
Did you purchase any properties? Play the gambling games? Find different clothing outfits? Take advantage of the buy/sell economy to make money?

There is so much to accomplish in the game, sounds like you played the straight story line and fast traveled everywhere you went maybe taking a few side missions here and there. I've put in at least 12+ hours and just got "the thief". Slow down smell the roses and you just might enjoy them more.

Launch version of Fable had less then 50 missions including all of the side ones, on average they took a few minutes to get done each. If I went for a speed run I could probably cut that in half or perhaps less then that. That is with a house and a wife btw, it isn't due to lack of checking out the content- it is the shocking lack of content.

There is so much to accomplish in the game

I have to ask, have you ever played a RPG before? There is almost nothing to do in Fable- fire up an ES, NWN, BG, FF, DQ hell even a Diablo, Zelda or Paper Mario- they all utterly dwarf Fable in terms of the amount of content. The most time logged with a game I have is over 4K hours(MMO- 130 days played on one toon, 40 days on another), I am quite used to taking my time with a game- there just wasn't anything to take your time with in that title.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about different things here. You're talking Fable 2, he's talking the original.

That being said, I think you'd be hard-pressed to suck all of the content out of Fable 2 in 9 hours, even using the warp from location to location. I also think that Lionhead is playing a tricky balancing game, since a lengthy main storyline creates a time barrier to starting a second character with a different playstyle. The focus of the game isn't Final Fantasy epicness, it's the choices you make in terms of your actions and style of play and the impact it has on your character and the world.

Two ways:

1. Kill her.
2. Have a friend join in co-op, turn safety off, and have him kill her.

I recommend option 2. Keeps your hands clean.

is that really the only option, death?

if thats the case then im just gonna let her follow and get killed accidentally, so it isnt my fault. i wish she'd just stay home tho.

Have you bought a residence and set it as a Marital Home? I believe you need to have your spouse follow you there when you set it. That's pretty much the only thing I can think of if Dismiss doesn't work.

Yeah, set a budget for her and everything. Oh well.

I have to say, I really love the way your character still accrues money for the business and property he owns even when you are not playing. It almost feels like cheating because you're able to get so much money fairly easily.

I'd hate to see what would happen if I just put the game down for a month or two.

So what ever happened to the people who used the cheat in the pub games to rack up tons of cash? I remember them saying it was in there "intentionally" and it would do something in the actual game.

I haven't tried it, but supposedly you can accumulate a boat load of cash if you set the date of your Xbox ahead one year and then boot up Fable II.

You have to be disconnected from Live for it to work, though, or else it will automatically correct the date for you. It also won't work beyond one year, so if you try five you won't get anything extra.

Oh, and I finally completed the main storyline yesterday. I've seen a lot of complaints that this game is too short, but I took my time and tried to do all of the side quests available to me (although there are still things I haven't done), and I'd say I've spent a fair amount of time in the game. I haven't checked yet to see (I assume the game will tell me) but I'd be surprised if I'm under 20-30 hours.

I think there's a "seconds played" stat in the Logbook. That 20-30 hour guess sounds about the ballpark for where I estimate my playtime was, but I also liked running around the zones (instead of warping) so I could level up assorted abilities. I started out mostly magic, but once I got aimed shot (and a powerful weapon) the lure of the rapid-fire headshot proved too tempting.

I also finished the main storyline yesterday. I'm looking forward to playing through as Evil (insert pinky in mouth) next. I'm curious how, if at all, the storyline and environment change.

I'd ask how people chose to play the endgame, but I'm not sure I want to put spoilers in this thread.

I really like this game... and I got my wife to quit following me. Actually I didnt do anything, she just stopped and went home. Possibly to make me a sammich.

Anyway I'm trying to avoid the main quest right now to branch off and do some exploring. I think this game is much better than the first one, as well. Which isnt to slight the first one...I just really like this one!

I tried a little experiment with my Fable II wife just to see if anything would happen. I've been playing as a good/pure character (got my halo and everything now). While in Westcliff, I hit on Sara the Thug who is "aggressive, bisexual, raunchy, randy", loves the vulgar thrust emote, and needs a bath (seriously half her face is covered in mud).

Marrying her did not affect my stats in the least and she did not change at all even. I would have thought putting her in a nice house in Oakfield would have at least caused a change in clothing and for her to look clean...but nope. I have caught her getting into arguments with other residents of Oakfield though. Both kids came out as "serious and thoughtful".

Oh well, ended up being an experiment in nothing. Haven't gotten around to seeing just how bisexual, raunchy, and randy Sara the Thug can be though.

Sadly, I don't believe the generic people in the game change, even if the environment around them changes. I tried to tart up my wife by giving her clothing as gifts, but her model never changed. As far as I can tell, building up the economy in a region doesn't cause the citizens to change from commoners to upper-class (although maybe I just haven't built the economy up enough).

I'm also guessing that their attributes are just proclivities which determine how effective the classes of actions are. Raunchy and randy probably mean that vulgar and overtly sexual actions have more of a positive effect, whereas they'd have a negative effect on someone who was prude.

LOL, I did a similar thing. My character is pure as the driven snow, with the halo. I had a wife in Bowerstown, then I got another wife in Westfield. Did not affect my pureness at all. I then killed my second wife - had no affect on my pureness. I then married a guy - gay marriage - and I eventually killed him. I still have my halo .

I thought it was funny when a woman came up and propositioned me.... so I gave her the thumbs up and she went into follow mode. I led her into a house I owned and went to bed. I didn't even realize that the hosue had a "purity" modifier on it... so when I was done with this woman, I got a message that for sleeping with this rather forward outspoken woman, people would now see me as being more pure.

Best of both worlds! lol.

Well, I finished the main quest last night. I had to return the game to Blockbuster today or else be charged for it so I went ahead and finished it off. Still had about 13 Quests in my queue too. Oh well. The ending is definitely not what I expected story wise or gameplay wise but it was nice. I liked that even after the main story is over you can continue to play.

I guess I'll wait. I will never buy a XBox 360 as long as RROD is still an issue.

Did anyone else drink the potion at the end of Castle Fairfax Tomb?

This just seems a bit silly to me.
