I have never received a spam email from Facebook. I have also never received (to my knowledge) a spam phone call from facebook.

If you don't like it, cancel your account and ask for your money back.

Jesus, did someone call the waaaahmbulance? Get over yourself. Nobody gives a shit if you use Facebook or if you don't. If you stopped using it, great. Most people find it a really handy tool for keeping in touch, planning events, and sharing information about themselves.

But see, this is the problem: No one wants information about you. Or anyone else. Or at least, they shouldn't. The fact that they do says volumes about these people's lives.

Whenever I hear "social networking" or whatever buzzword is attached to the current interact-with-people-without-actually-interacting-with-people trend, I always think of this, which is one of the better commentaries I've seen on the whole situation.

I've been on both sides of the fence. When it first came out, all I saw was my friends spending hours 'tagging' photos and stalking the cuties in their classes*. That wasn't for me. Then I came to realize that there are about 4 people from HS that I wouldn't mind tracking down but quickly realized it would consume me so I resisted the urge to sign up and check it out. I waste enough time online - I certainly don't need another 'reason' to get online.

*Stalking in real life is just more personal, you know?
