yeah, I've been trying to find a KB shortcut for the back function in browsers, but for the life of me, can't find it listed, anywhere. I've been too ashamed to even ask.
Yeah, people are just plundering accounts from the released data. The attack didn't seem to be at FB (according to wiki and Lulz coverage, see "On June 16" paragraph), I don't think - they didn't name where they got the list of accounts.

That said, shouldn't most people have discovered backspace to go back by accidentally going back when they try to backspace over some text without giving the field focus or after accidentally tabbing out or having a touchpad think you clicked elsewhere? Happens all the time to me. Maybe I just work too fast.
I'm an ass, but at least I understand that there should be a way to jump to my own posts and replies to it in a page of 100 posts. If you know it should be there, that's all you need to be able to find it.
Hell, I'm pissed off that IE9 broke being able to page up and down when jumping around with CTRL + F. It makes it far less useful because you can't see what's under your search result without moving the scroll bar. I'm talking about a work PC, FWIW, that we had to roll back to IE8 due to alternatives not being allowed and gmail's blast email functions being inaccessible (IE9 compatibility problem).
So, what makes me unlike the kid who has Pi memorized to 100 places? I just think he needs to show more ambition if he calls himself a techie, posts on a tech forum, and hasn't explored a basic menu. Shame me for something I did wrong and I strive to correct it. Don't others respond the same way?
I've done around 10 builds and numerous repairs to PC's. is that "techie" enough for you? do you really think every person knows every keyboard shortcut for every program one runs? I spend a few hours a day on SAP, (bloatware, IMO), everyone at work has a few tricks figured out to show someone else so we can use this beastie software, no one has the all-knowing ass attitude you have when educating someone else to a new trick or feature they haven't seen/used yet..

The point isn't that you don't know some obscure techie shortcut because you don't know them all, it's that it's a damn-near universal keyboard shortcut that most non-techies would know. It works across almost any relevant application, operating system, or device. It's like not knowing what F5 or CTRL+ALT+DEL typically does.
Techies use a lot more than CTRL+A, CTRL+X/C/V, WIN+R, WIN+E, or ESC.
It's even funnier now that you called it "new."
Does anyone else find the number of passwords that are actually "password" disturbing?
almost every password i have looks like- BRf7lKy99kbDoWdsTKzE
20 characters, sometimes specials if the website allows it. i have a different password for every site. its all kept inside keepass, and all i have to remember is one 22 character master password, which isnt as hard as it seems. its not even made up of words, its just random patterns on the keyboard that i remember.
and for awhile i was even using the usb thumbdrive on my keychain as the other half of my master password. so the only way to get into my virtual safe was to insert that exact usb key and type in the password. i stop being that paranoid though, and just leave the composite key in my dropbox folder now.
