I did a global search and found a few of my friends, how do I read their profiles, etc? It just lets me poke them and view their friends, how do I see their pics?

Not if they've got their privacy settings turned up.

EDIT: If they're really your friends, why not add them to your friends list?

/me calls shens about CasioTech having friends

If they have a geography set, just change yours to whatever theirs is. This will allow you to see it without being added as a friend.

We all know you're looking for hot girls, so no you can't do that.

that's why myspace will always be supreme.

If you're actually in college, facebook is much more handy than myspace.

Myspace was designed by a chimp with ADD on crack. Facebook is actually nice and readable.

Normal- Everyone can search for you. Your friends and everyone at your school can see your profile.

Reserved- Everyone can search for you. Only your friends and your friends of friends at your school can see your profile.

Paranoid- Only people at your school can search for you. Only your friends can see your full profile. Your wall will be turned off. Warning: People at other schools will not be able to add you as a friend.

Who can see your profile? (Your friends can always see your profile)
- Everyone at your school
- Your friends of friends at your school
- Only your friends
Among the group selected above, who is allowed to see your profile?
- Undergrads
- Grad Students
- Summer Students
- Alumni
- Faculty
- Staff

Myspace is for kids who want facebook but are still little kids. Or it's for ppl who go to really crappy college. Or it's for old 40 yr olds trying to stalk.

Facebook only allows you to view profiles of people who go to your college, unless of course you add them as a friend. I am happy that it is this way. Facebook does a pretty good job keeping the losers/stalkers away, unlike myspace.

I just tried signing up for facebook, and it will only let me use a school email, even though I want to register as an alum. My school email has been gone for over a year.
