I recently viewed links to both. The Myspace one seemed much more dynamic (BGM etc), while the Facebook one seemed rather drab, yet IIUC Facebook is the most popular.
What's the differnece?

Myspace is slightly more annoying than facebook (which becomes more annoying on a linear scale with myspace everyday).

FB used to be clean, sleek, and minimalistic. Now there's all kinds of bullshit on there that I want no part in.

FB allows you to do lots of things, and only a small number of them annoy other people, while the rest are entertaining for all. Myspace allows you to do a lot of things, most of which annoy other people, rarely entertaining all.

Facebook started out as a networking site for specific colleges. Within the last couple years it's started to allow high schools and now it's open to everyone. Last year, facebook added a ton of annoying applications.

However, facebook is easier to navigate and won't crash your browser like myspace when some twat decides to put 90 videos and lots of flashing things on her 90 million pixel long page.

Facebook has never made me think of the gift of vision as a curse. I can't say the same for MySpace.

They both suck?

If you feel the need to reduce yourself to a simple webpage for your friends to keep in contact with, instead of actual interpersonal relationships, then go with Facebook IMO. No where near the amount of <18 year old kids, less flashy crappy pages, etc.

I do think myspace was good once upon a time. Then it was purchased by an advertising company and turned into an add/flash page hell. Multiplied by all the flash on people profiles.

Facebook was good once upon a time because it was clean and fast, now its full of applications which are annoying. The one last saving grace of facebook is that it won't start playing music when I visit someones page.

I actually like what Myspace music has done. I've found quite a few bands on there that I would not have heard of otherwise.

Myspace and Facebook do seem to be slowly converging. I have a Facebook account, but I rarely login to it and when I do it's mainly just to play Scrabble or Word Twist. I keep my page as minimal as possible other than that.

Facebook finds people you might know based on when you graduated, who's friends with the people you've already added, etc. You join networks based on schools or regions, and only people in those networks or your friends can view your profile (in fact, you can limit it to friends only if you want, as you can with MySpace). Facebook is pretty good for keeping in touch with people from high school, college, work, cousins, etc., and I know some older people who have it too. You have to scrounge around if you want to find people you know on MySpace. It's easier to find people you don't know on MySpace though if that's what you're into. Facebook (and now MySpace to a lesser extent) gives you updates about what your friends do on the site, and gives your friends updates on what you do. Facebook is fairly clean and functional, and you can add applications (third-party, but found through the site) to your profile if you want to muck it up or add some sort of functionality. Facebook has a fairly nice built-in chat function.

MySpace gives you a bit more freedom as far as how you can modify your page, but like others said, this can be a bad thing. MySpace is much more open, e.g., you can see most people's profiles. There a lot of fake/advertisement pages and more ads. Overall, the IQ seems a bit lower. MySpace has band pages, movie pages, etc., which I don't think Facebook has. The MySpace site itself gives a lot of errors from time to time.

Most of my friends here use Myspace, although it seems a lot of my college buddies use Facebook.

I use Myspace a lot more just because it's what I used first.

That's about the only thing it's good for, and I'll concede that.

Facebook used to be worlds better than myspace, but now there is much suckage. Still, it's slightly better than myspace. At least I can refuse to accept applications.

And that is a BAD thing in my opinion and probably in many others as well! Myspace is HORRID in navigation and general browsing. Layout seems like a charlie foxtrot as well.

Facebook is becoming an evil in the internets side by being more Myspace-ish due to popular demand from AOL-kiddie-immature-annoyingappadding-idiots. At least back in the good ol days of Facebook, there is a verification mechanism in place that verifies you are attending school (albet by just an email address) but it sure gets rid of those social site spammers as well.

Certainly. I liked the OLD old Facebook. Back before applications, before the news feed, hell, back when the "Wall" was an actual wall, not a myspace-esque comments section.
