FaH SMP Client

Is it only me or are most of the downloads at stanford corrupt files?
I could only get the GPU2 console client to download, the rest of the files wont extract as it gets CRC errors. Trie don 2 systems at home now and get the same results.

Anyone able to verify this for me?

And if they are having issues with corrupt files on their website, anyone have a mirror to the SMP client as mine apparently has expired

I need the 6.22 SMP console client. I'll try to download it again and see if it works better now. I appreciate your effort.

EDIT: NO still no go on the downloads. Getting corrupt archive all over the place. Could anyone please try to download the 6,22 SMP beta client, doesnt matter which one of them.

If you had Fah smp working on your system just replace the expired executable in the FAH SMP directory with this one here.

If not, then we need to your OS and more details about the corrupt files, etc.

I do not have the services and old executables left I'm afraid.
Im running Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 x86

When trying to download the "6.22 beta2 for Deino MPI (32-bit only)" i get the following error mesage:
! C:\Users\jonas.forsell\AppData\Local\Temp\FAH6.22beta2-win32-SMP-deino.zip: CRC misslyckades i DeinoMPI.msi. Filen är skadad
! C:\Users\jonas.forsell\AppData\Local\Temp\FAH6.22beta2-win32-SMP-deino.zip: CRC misslyckades i foo.exe. Filen är skadad

Its swedish and basicly says CRC checksum error, file is damaged.

When I try to download the "6.22 beta2 for MPICH (32-bit or 64-bit)" version I get the following error:
The data section of this self-extracting file has been damaged
(CRC Error: Should be 87A56C0B, is; B050F37F

The thing is this system is joined to my domain and I have roaming profiles enabled. So at first I thought this might be the issue, however i am sucessfull at download other self extracting packages from other sources. This is the only download that has given me any grief ever.

So, theres not a single other person who gets the same error when downloading and extracting the clients form the following URL: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther ?

Try making a new directory at root level like: "C:\fahsmp", (I remember reading something about "Users" folder causing problems)

Are you running it as Administrator?

I searched the folding forum and googled it too but I couldn't find any recent posts with the same problem. There is a utility called md5 check that allows you to verify the checksum of your download. One source is http://www.softpedia.com/get/S...gement/MD5-Check.shtml

This weekend I only have access to a mac but I downloaded the MPICH (windows installer file) and checked the MD5 check sum and it matches.

Try GLeeM's suggestion and if that doesn't work then perhaps it is a LAN problem?

Insidious has offered to download the file for you too. Maybe downloading from a different location might work.

Thanks for the suggestions. AS i've said, ive downloaded a numerious amount of packages into the users folder and all have checked out OK.

I did try to download to different locations, aswell as from different browsers (IE7 and FF3)
My user belongs to the admin group via group policy settings so no problem there. There definately seems to be some kind of issue from my end as it seems to work for others, I just can't figure out what as all other downloads checks out OK.
I might try updating winrar though and see if that helps with one of the packages.
